I don't like NTR. I don't hate it, but it's not my cup of tea.
I think a storyteller, like Dragon here, needs to write the story that's on his mind and ignore the fallout about that. If he starts to tell himself "I won't write X because collective A will be offended, I'll change Y so collective B likes it, and I will re-write Z so collective C doesn't come to the thread complaining" three things will happen:
The first one is that he won't see his story as accomplishing its full potential because he's writing it with a tied hand on his back.
The second is that, for him, the story will be bland, with the risk of getting bored of writing it.
The third and more important. Collective D will appear complaining about a thing no one thought about someone would complain.

Very true with the cost of abandoning one's story to chase approval.
Not a fan of Netorare myself either. I just know that some of the story elements I will write about will trigger some of the weak NTR people because other men will be in some of the stories.

I'm a noob in this world, it's my first game and I'm still learning the ropes of this hobby/job, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
But... take your risks, make the game you would like to play, tell the story you would like to read, and put a lot of passion into it. As I wrote in the answer above, there will be people complaining about any aspect of the game. It can be the poly thing or the height/weight/hair color/hairstyle/sexuality/wardrobe of a character. Remember you write the game so you take the choices, but also remember the moment you publish it, the game is as yours as the players'. But you can't please everyone. Not even Martha has accomplished it .

Your first game? It is not apparent. You've done a great job.

As an example, I will talk about Kate. I knew Kate was going to be a controversial character. She's overweight (and "lesbian") and there are a lot of people who won't like her looks. But I wanted her in the game. I also wanted the players to give her an opportunity because I love her, so before writing her first scene I knew I wanted to give the option to slim her down. I can have done it inversely (a slim girl who gains weight) and save myself some of the fallout I got about her, but that wouldn't be Kate's story.

Perfect opportunity to share my first thoughts this morning when I woke up.

The first steps to that have been taken. Maddie will join the DnD game, Megan will start to spend time in the house, Eileen is Erika's co-worker, and Alexia is her customer. When they are accepted into the extended family (some of them don't even need to be in a relationship with the MC, but he is the common point) the family will help them and they will help the family.
One of the saddest parts of the epilogue I wrote was the "rejected Lisa" part. Even if she is rejected by the player, she will try to help the family.

I haven't invoked any negative points with Lisa, but if given the choice, I have made choices that prioritize the other at this point. I expect that I should reconsider that the more I do for her, I expect the better she'll move out of her current affectation.
One of my future works (written with my first ex) will be about a leather family in space. It will be less about their BDSM relationship and more how they bond together as a family of choice.

I like the dumb hero trope, a hero with flaws, although in the next update, the player will have the option of being a bit creepy/perv.

One more thought. I was surprised to see Anthony show up again where he did. My impression of him from the University was that he'd be more likely to match with Jamaal. Definitely looking forward to see how the date resolved for them.

Not every girl will live at home with the MC. Samantha and Simone have their house; the same applies for Alexia, Maddie, and Megan. They can form part of the harem without living there when they join the harem.

The game will have three phases:
* The first phase will cover the arrival at home and the establishment of the harem. It will be closed in v.0.9 with the arrival of the first batch of students. It explores how family and old/new acquaintances are integrated into the budding harem.
* The second phase will cover their first weeks at home, the last arrivals (Grandma and 2 more ladies), and the stabilization of the harem. It also will give the opportunity to the player to impregnate all the ladies s/he wants to see with bellies in the third phase. It will cover the clone/spying plot, too. It explores the new ladies' story, the first bits of competitiveness, the newcomers integrating into the harem, and how the "first girls" interact with the "new girls".
* There will be a time jump (I'm still doing maths about how many months) for the bellies to develop and the MC to do some things off-screen. He won't be in Newport during the time jump, and it will be justified inside the story.
* The third phase is the MC's return home after the time jump. The bellies have developed, the last batch of students has arrived, and the harem is public now. When the MC returns, the second batch has been there for some time and they know about the harem. This phase will show their reactions when they meet the MC and, obviously their interaction with the other girls and how the MC romances them.
* Then a 22 years time jump for the epilogue, where we will know every girl's story depending on:
a) The MC is on her path. (Marriages, professional career, etc.)
b) She's pregnant or not at the end of the third phase. (Children, etc.)
c) Some other variables.
We also will know how the family as a whole (here the concept of family includes everyone the MC cares for) has evolved during those years.

Family bonding is really nice. One thing I missed in most family games I played is the family doing things a family does, like watching TV, having (non-sexual) fun in the pool, etc. In those games the girls seem to live each in their own void. I wanted to change that.

When they start to get morning sickness at the same time, it will be demonstrated that the contract with the university that required a minimum number of bathrooms was necessary.
Imagine Martha, Emma, Kim, Debbie, Kate, Lisa, and the fifth student needing to vomit at the same time, in the same house. There are "only" 5 restrooms in that house.
Norah's house will be somewhat better, with only Norah, Erika, Daphne, and Betty.

My bane is my ADD. I have more than 20 story ides waiting in wings. I'm going to need a production staff to have any hope of catching up to my busy brain. I will eventually list some of those concepts in my discussion thread (and on my patreon/subscribestar). In some cases, to help me prioritize some of the projects, like Pilgrimage to Earth, a science fiction retelling of the Canterbury Tales (another epic project, that). My two other epics are the polyamory story and a steampunk story that will cover many adventures with the protagonist, from apprentice to master.

OK, good to know. I've had experience with a mother and a grandmother who are/were very critical based upon appearances and societal norms. They would love Lisa because she's the most.....normal of all the characters to date. I was judging Olivia through the lens of my own experience.

One of my ambitious projects is to have a "cat girl" character with vitiligo whose fur patterns match the skin patterns. I was inspired by the release of Veronica 9 and her vitiligo skin. That one will need to wait until I have my skills up.

I know that one. In real life, I didn't have to be with every woman I knew, but I definitely developed feelings for my woman friends. It may have been because my earliest experiences was being with the two women in our gaming group, who, in turn were involved with one or two of the guys in the group.

I understand. Someone who puts out a very strong image to protect their vulnerability. I like MCs who help the women feel safe and available to share their fears and vulnerabilities--In part because I've always tried to be that guy (even if it meant "just being a friend")

Waiting until it is obvious like that would definitely be seen as a "coward's way out," but right now, he's allowing the women full autonomy in the timing. It does sound like most will want to come out to the family long before it is obvious.

The downside of not having "Dorm-like bathrooms" with multiple stalls. I lived on a co-ed floor, and it was quite interesting at times.
