Whenever I drive to Las Vegas from the northeast (I live in Utah), when I come to the crest of the hill where you first get a glimpse of the city I always say out loud:

Nevada in general is mostly comprised of sage brush desert and alkali flats... basically "miles and miles of miles and miles." ("kilometers and kilometers of kilometers and kilometers" doesn't roll off the tongue as well, IMO. Sorry.)... in short, Mordor material.

Ok, let's get back on track and discuss My Dorm, instead of bashing other states.

What is everyone hoping will happen in the next update? And who is your favorite LI? I know some of them but not all.

I've only driven to LV from Arizona but I guess the landscape is about the same

If you go through the southern part from Bullhead City into Laughlin there's some greenery at the Colorado River though. Whereas if you go from Barstow in California it's just bleak desert wasteland as far as the eye can see. If instead you're coming from Utah through that narrow stretch of Arizona that doesn't connect to any other part of Arizona (in between St. George, Utah and Mesquite, Nevada) it's pretty barren as well.

About the wine, no hidden meanings on my part. The Burgundy shape looks better than the Bordeaux shape to me, at least among the assets I have.

There are many billions of reasons Elon isn't entirely insane, but I know he rubs some the wrong way - not giving one side everything they want will have that effect.

As for the Cupcake comment - it's typically pretty crappy wine, but, they are college girls and you have to get what you can afford. At least it wasn't Boone's Farm or Mad Dog!

Well to borrow another Lord of the Rings reference. Californians and Texans get along like Elves and Dwarves (and I'm not saying Legolas and Gimli) or maybe like oil and fire. The two states are opposite in political ideology and american media likes to play up the divisions.

We'd trade them Austin for.... Well, I'd have to do a little research on that - the pickin's a pretty slim. Hell, we might just give it to them.

What I meant with the Rivendell example is that, opposed to the Texan's perspective of Califordor, surely most Californians don't see their state as bad and perhaps perceive Texas, Idaho, or North Dakota (for example) as the real Mordor. You live in a country with high mobility, so it's not that hard to move to Idaho, Georgia, or Wyoming if you are not that happy with your state. That has consequences, obviously, but remember only 48% of the current adult Californians were born in the state.

Given my avatar, I think of the Dwarves as more noble and true. Feanor, Morgoth, Sauron, even Legolas' dad, were all pretty shady and varying degrees of evil, so Cali can have them. The one with the fairest face is usually the one that will mislead and betray you the fastest (which makes Cali the perfect place for Hollywood. )

As for the population of California, it has been said that U-Haul has nominated Gavin Newsom as "salesman of the year" every year since 2019.

Money doesn't make one sane. Gadaffi's richness in his best times surpasses that of Elon.
I'm not an anti-billionaire guy, but I consider much more sane Warren Buffet or Bill Gates than Elon.

If you don't want Austin, you can return it to us (with all the companies there, obviously). And also the rest of the state. You will get universal healthcare and a good power grid.
