Nope not you, that's why I specifically pointed out it was a plot point. Or at least in my mind something that may be integral. We already know about the clones if you read a little or play more than 10 minutes. But you're not 100% sure who the clones are. Well now I know thatIf it's my fault, I'm sorry.
In these forums, we usually hide the plot points concerning the latest update (most of the time), but not about previous updates. I guess our biased brains think everyone already played it.

There's 2 very different games here.
I, and as far as I know, most of us, only play ONE of them. Sure, there must be some masochists that play both, and some like you, that play the OTHER.
I can«t say anything about "your" version, never even tried to understand it. In MY opinion, the version I play, is the ONLY real one.
That big spoiler you mentioned... doesn't exist, for me. So, I can't even... I just can't even...

It all depends on if you play the patched or unpatched version.
In the unpatched version, your spoiler is right (it already tells you about it in the intro, where you can rename the characters)
In the patched version, your spoiler is wrong. She's your real cousin.
As FatGiant and Elhemeer said, there are two versions of the game (patched/unpatched) with slightly different backgrounds for some of the girls (Martha, Norah, Emma, Daphne, Erika, and five more ladies I won't name because I don't know if you have already met them). Ok, "slightly" is an understatement.

You didn't fuck up taking the call from Edmund. You opened a story arc that will bring into the family another lady (or not, depending on the patched/unpatched state of your game). It's one of the story arcs I'm more fond of.
I hated the "landlady/roommate" thing when I was a player, so I implemented two different stories/backgrounds. I won't say they are two different games, since 95% of it is the same, but it changes a lot of the relationships and some of the dialogues/whole scenes.
When people talk in the forum, they talk about their version (or even what they think will happen in their version) without knowing what happened in the other version.

To mess it up a little less, I did two family trees (the ages of some of the characters are wrong). If you haven't heard of Amanda and Eva, please don't open it. Up-to-date players will miss someone, but it's good for you right now.
