So I was thoroughly thrown off this update because the redheaded cousin - who I renamed to "Rebecca" at the beginning of the game in my save, and completely forgot that wasn't the default name - started being intermittently referred to as "Daph". I had absolutely no idea who anyone was talking about, until I came here and searched, to figure out that was her default name. Not sure what happened, but somehow the "shortened" name for her that I chose isn't being used anymore, and it's reverting back to "Daph", which is completely throwing me off.

You never choose a shortened name. Season 1 (when you renamed her) is coded so, when the shortened name is used, it uses the full name. Something happened with the code in the import of Season 1 > Season 2 that changed that and reverted to the original shortened name, but since it wasn't used in Season 2, no one (me included) detected the error until now.
It will be solved in the next update.

As far as I know it has to be preinstalled/prepatched so if it isn't in yours then you have to look for another Android version...

You should create an empty patch.txt on the \game folder. Although it's possible it should be named x-patch.txt on Android. I would create both files and check if it works.

I haven't worked with those, and I only saw one 9-track installation working in my early days working on IT (1989). And they told me "Don't get near that!"

It was 1979 time frame the only time when I was going to Boot camp when they handed me my punch card and said "Don't loose that, it has all your information". Compared to back then to when I started IT in the 90s when you had 512 Mb hard drives to now I can get 32Tb hard drives.

Now with the MC and cloning and having two LI that are clones (stay on topic ) technology just amazes this old grunt.

OMFG how many times did I lose EVERYTHING when the computer would try and access the 5" disk as I was removing it.
