No, of course not. Never.

But, did you read how my birthday yesterday? All the gorgeous ladies where topless, eating food and having fun, barbecue in the backyard, full of laughter and happiness, singing "Happy birthday" too and giving me lots of hugs and kisses.

Good times.:cool::sneaky:

Apparently, I'm just too weird for y'all (or too kinky)...
;)

So.. does the Tropecita Games really despise leakers and F95 mods that much, or was that part about killing a leaker and hunting them just a funny little insert?

With the risk of dredging up some old shit; it's references to moments where someone not only couldn't wait for the free release of an update but also had to ruin that entirely by just throwing the update out for everyone and one where some overzealous mod deleted a lot of legitimate posts in a forum thread.
The whole game is littered with some subtle and some not so subtle references as such. For example the many pineapple pizza discussions in this thread made it into the game. Or the Canadian bacon.

The leakers reference in the game was due to a vile subhuman leaker who leaked a game update here a couple of days (I think) after Trope posted the update on the highest tier (again, I think) for his subscribers. Trope's very understandable response was that, since all of his subscribers got hosed due to the very early public release of the game, and since he consequently lost a bunch of subscribers, he came very close to stopping production of the game altogether, since he already knows how the story ends. Because that particular punishment of the leakers would also result in lots of collateral damage, the My Dorm community also shares Trope's extreme animosity for leaker vermin... they definitely AREN'T heroes. So... Hulksmash it is.

(Trope, correct me if I'm wrong on any of the relevant details.)

Luckily, they can't be considered human. And evil never dies.

You are almost right. The leak happened a week after the release for the higher tier, when it arrived at the third tier (Emma's tier). It was in April, some days before the third anniversary.

You are right in that I lost a lot of subscribers (around 120, more than 11%, which I still haven't recovered after 3 updates, without counting the lack of growth). I had to give the game for free to all the subscribers at the same time, fucking the tier system and getting a lot of downgrades and cancellations. I can't calculate how much money the leak cost me between lack of growth, downgrades, and cancelations.

At that moment, I didn't ponder stopping production. But I was (and still am) ready to stop production when (note I don't say "if") a new leak happens. I don't want to spend another week in depression, looking blankly at a screen and asking myself if it's worth it.

It's true that I know how the story ends and how it develops. I won't lose that. However, I will lose a lot (and I'm not talking about money) if I stop production, but I will gain in mental health. If, in two days when the update arrives at Emma's tier, the game is leaked, I really don't know what I would do. And, with every update, I'm stressed until the final tier gets the game, waiting for another leak. Is it worth it?

One of the things that pisses me off the most is that there are people who consider leakers to be heroes. They are not. A hero does things that benefit their community. And they do it without receiving anything in return. Pissing off a developer and making them do the next update angry, depressed, hurt, and unmotivated doesn't help anyone. Even less so forcing him to abandon the game. Leakers want their moment of self-glory and to see four idiots call them “heroes” without knowing who they are. Because they're cowards who don't have the guts to show their faces. They think they're Batman, living a secret heroism. But no, they do it for the recognition (if not for the money they make from downloads through their links). That's not heroism, folks.

Tropecita Games despises leakers as much as anyone can despise a living entity. Sorry, I won't call them human beings.
Tropecita Games despises fascist forum moderators who don't understand how a community works and is formed. I won't say, at risk of being banned, if I think that applies to F95 mods.

That's what I think, but I'm "not" Tropecita Games, only Trope95... I think. ;)

Special Render 76 - Alexia - Free Edition

The next render is Alexia as Dejah Thoris, from Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom series (also known as the John Carter Martian saga).

She is described as a strikingly beautiful woman with a light reddish copper skin tone, oval face, and coal-black hair. About her outfit, Burroughs wrote, "Save for her highly wrought ornaments she was entirely naked, nor could any apparel have enhanced the beauty of her perfect and symmetrical figure."

So knowing the description Burroughs did of her in 1912, and knowing that the Yeti wasn't a endangered species then, I think Alexia fits the role perfectly. She's strong, clever, beautiful and loyal, just as her Martian counterpart.

Enjoy our beautiful cop dressed only in silvery and golden ornaments.

My eyes are very happy. And heart. But for me this "Princess of Mars" definitely comes from Venus. :p
