12 of October, is day of the races, (Dia de la raza) former known as "Dia de las Americas" (day of the Americas) , because it was the day as Cristoph Columbos landed, the name was changed into this, to remember, the events that followed, during the conquista, and to be a reminder to all of Hispanic heritage to be tolerant and inclusive to all races, and ethnities.
The colonization brought also good things, and this is what is celebrated as well.
In that sense abrazo y feliz dia de la raza Trope95 and all my friends, specially to my Spanish and Portuguese friends.

Wow! I tried to get the same result (Spanish, English, and Italian versions) without success. I guess I answered with Yes or No some questions that the algorithm has set to Probably or Probably not.

I'm aware of the original meaning, there was a heated debate over here, If it should be celebrated or not, the decision was to celebrate, but change the meanin which is what I described is the meaning which it was given, over here, and that we want to transmit to future generations, not the slight supremacist undertone which it had originally.
I am also not aware, how other Hispano american countrys celebrate or see it.

Hollywood has made Thanksgiving a famous holiday around the world. Everyone knows of its existence, but some people don’t know that there are other places with different dates for it.

Well, today it’s Thanksgiving in Canada (I delayed the post until all of Canada was on October 13th), so I sent our only known Canadian to visit her family. She was unlucky and her car broke down, so she needed to walk through the frozen wilderness. She was attacked by a pack of… I don’t know… arctic foxes or seals (not Navy SEALS) or polar bears or… well, it’s not important… and they tore her clothing, leaving her only in lingerie. At least she is wearing the Canadian colors in her lingerie (sorry, I didn’t find any lingerie with a maple leaf).

About her attire, I think the Lady was thinking about the MC and his family, got a bit too hot and had to cool down... no? Maybe she got HOT thinking of Emma's ministrations... I dunno really, just blabbering...

Across the state we were covered with 2 to 3+ feet of snow in one night. It started with rain that turned into freezing rain (great road fun, that!) and very quickly into snow pounding us all over. Some years the first freeze/snow is a little earlier, most a bit later.

I guess it depends on which part of Canada. Being so big, I guess Northern Territorioes and Ontario have wildly different climates. I did a random search:

I still sleep with the A/C on and go outside in shorts and T-shirt, but I don't think I would survive a Canadian winter.

Across the state we were covered with 2 to 3+ feet of snow in one night. It started with rain that turned into freezing rain (great road fun, that!) and very quickly into snow pounding us all over. Some years the first freeze/snow is a little earlier, most a bit later.

Our bigger "snowstorm" here (since I was born) was in 2006. Scarcely one inch of snow and the city got paralyzed. It melted the next day.

Yeah it was 1985 or 1986 when I was stationed in Minot ND, we had a May blizzard. Thankfully it was gone in just a few days.
