I never thought the kissing scene was going to get so much controversy. I don't see anything lesbian in two girls practice-kissing, as I've seen it all my life with straight girls, and for me is something innocent. The choice there was to open/close the combined path with Scarlett and Daphne, nothing to do with lesbians.
It's my fault the fantasy image is like that, as the lesbian blocking choice shows later. I should have made that image more 'neutral'. I'm sorry if it spoiled the experience for you.
As an example of how I see lesbians, for me, there hasn't been any lesbian content yet. The tag is planned and not 'real'. For me, lesbian content is when both parts are attracted to each other, and Scarlett says at the game night she's not into girls. And with this, I don't want to dodge the blame for that render. I should have done it differently.

If you've already decided "no les, no kissing" you still have to see a more than a little dialogue of all the girls talking with each other about all the other girls they are going to make out with. And only after the fantasy and all that talk can you shut it down. Already chose not to have kissing or lesbian stuff, so why are those who chose that subjected to having to see and hear about it if we are going to be asked (yet again) to stop it?

It was the same thing with the ex. Turned her down flat after her little cafe convo, then I have to meet her again and choose to turn her down again. Dude this is a game, if I felt I screwed up I'd have restarted or chosen an earlier save. No means no.

You know what it's like? A dinner that has something you either don't like or are allergic to and when someone asks if you would like some you say "No thank you.". Usually people respect that, but there is sometimes a person that doesn't take the hint and starts waving that food in front of your face (not caring if it makes you nauseous to even smell it) and says "Are you suuurreee? Come on, have a bite!". That's how these things come off as (to me at least).

At the end of the day it is your game and I do enjoy it for the most part which is why when I experience these irritations it's magnified. It just doesn't feel like decisions made are being honored. Though it could always be worse since some devs like to openly mock players ingame for making those choices. So thanks for not being a jerk about it.

I have to Advocate, a bit here, The Dev. is from the Hispanic /Romanic Culture (includes France and Italy)
Here is totally normal that you greet your friends with one or two kisses (even between men) in my country it is one kiss on the cheek, but where and how this vary from country to country.
So from this point of view seeing 2 girls kissing on the street or strolling around by Hand is normal and it doesn´t imply that they are engaged or in a saphic relationship.
So my guess would be (I didn´t play the game just yet) the Dev don´t wanted to force nothing for him is it inocent (I do not know the context yet)

I'm not offended or anything I was just saying that non lesbian girls don't french kiss in public in any culture. Oh and I really doubt girls with no lesbian tendencies kiss each other for "practice", I mean young girls sometimes kiss each other for "practice" but they most of the time have some sexual interest in other woman, a full straight girl wouldn't do that.

The game won't force any lesbian content into the players. In fact, it won't force anything into the players. Not any girl and not any kink. Any non-vanilla content will be optional
The problem here is the definition of vanilla. For some people on this site, anal is vanilla and for some is not, for example, so I prefer to give the player the option of seeing or not any content beyond vaginal/oral/handjob/blowjob/titjob. I've asked the player at the start of this update about pregnancy. And any other non-vanilla content will have a menu like that one, but less intrusive and more integrated into the narrative (you'll see it at the end of v.0.4.5, due to publish for non-Patrons next week)
Anal will be optional, as will be low-level lesbian (girls interacting during a threesome), footjob, domination (this is a special case), or any content I think someone can consider non-vanilla.

Where I am, teenage girls practiced kissing since I was a teenager myself (I'll be 50 this year) if they don't have a boy to kiss. They don't do it in the open, but they do, everyone knows they do, and no one sees anything lesbian about it.
As I don't see anything lesbian in practice kissing, for me the choice to teach the girls how to kiss doesn't have anything lesbian about it, as they will stop practicing once they have MC's lips at their disposal. You've not decided "no les, no kissing" before the party; you've only decided to not teach two girls who won't continue practicing whether you teach them (better to kiss the MC) or not (their practice isn't working). And they are not going to make out with other girls after that dare, they are going to peck other girls as Norah does with the MC; no french kissing. I accept the blame, as I said earlier, for the image in Scarlett's fantasy.

Scarlett and Daphne don't french kiss in public. It's a surprise for the MC. That is the first instance where they kiss in front of anyone. As I said above, I knew some girls, when I was 15-17, who kissed other girls for practice. None of them have came out as a lesbian. Obviously it can be that they still are in the closet, but we live in Spain, one of the lesbian friendlier countries in Earth, so I doubt it.

She comes across as a marketing genius; she says in, an elegant way, in front of HER Love Interest (the MC) that she is willing to do anything for her boyfriend. Quick point of clarification: the first poster was saying he had 4 separate acquaintances who had all related having the experience, not one acquaintance with 4 children.

Me to but I also have young great nieces and before they turn 13 they were practicing with each other but once they turn 13 it was nothing but boys, boys and boys.

I'm going to say that I, personally, like having a second chance. Sometimes you might first see or meet a character and not click with them, but then later after a story moment or plot reveal you could connect and want to pursue them then. This can happen the other way around too. A character might appeal to you at first but then something happens, and you want to jump ship. I think more games should give a clear second chance to get on a girl's route. You brought up the fact that if you felt you made a mistake you could restart and while that is true, some people don't like to restart games. I saw it in another thread just recently. A guy accidentally got locked out of a girl's route but didn't want to restart the game to fix it. He didn't know where he had messed up and the game was several updates in, so he said he was just going to keep going and miss her stuff. He would have loved a clear second chance. Two chances are a much better system than many games have of point grinding and such that can lead to accidentally missing a girl because of one choice being wrong at some earlier point.

It also isn't being shoved in your face though. With the ex, for example, the MC just went for a run, and she was there. So, the game gives you a second chance to rekindle that relationship. I bet even if you turn her down, she will still show up in the story. She works with one of the other girls, there is a good chance she will be involved in the story even if not a love interest, but the game gives a final second chance this time to see if you've gotten to know her better and maybe changed your mind now.

I think games should also have a chance to abandon a route later though this is even more rare and could be more difficult to pull off.

All of this assumes the game is not kinetic of course and that Love Interests are optional. I actually don't have a problem personally with forced love interests as long as no non-vanilla (for my tastes at least) kinks are forced with them. But that's just me.
