I die a little inside whenever I see someone say "I asked chatGPT [something they could easily get an accurate answer for by just using a standard google search]" and then regurgitate the output of the probabilty machine/chatbot like it's gospel.

For real, just google it, use Ublock to kill the "AI overview" from google too.

Maybe if enough people do that they'll stop including them by default.

And maybe then we won't have to burn a fucking forest down every time someone wants a simple question answered.

Edit: remember kids, the "AI" isn't intelligent, it doesn't know things, and it isn't your friend. It just selects the next character for its output based on what it thinks will get the best result for the input it has been given and the output it has already generated then outputs that.

In Google, you can use the "web" results rather than "All" or "AI" to facilitate this as well. I have it set up to use that by default but can't remember how that was done.

And "AI" should absolutely stand for "Artificial Illusion of Intelligence", since that's basically what it is.

AI is a tool. It is useful for a lot of things but, like any tool, it's (at most) as useful as its designers decided it to be, with the limitations that are imposed by a changing social, economic, and technological environment. And, in the case of AI, by the set of data the AI has access to and design choices.

Just a little example. If today (a real) NTR launched their pregnancy tests as described in the game, how much time would the Google AI take to show it in search results about when a test is reliable? jadepaladin asked the AI a question about My Dorm, and it shows some results from more than a year ago!

To me, General Info AIs are like automated translators. You can't trust the results 100% if you do not compare them with other sources, or you don't have a high enough level in that topic (or language).

I use AI. For a lot of things. But I wouldn't put my life in AI's (virtual) hands.

I finished Season 1, started Season 2, loaded my saves, patched the game, and the button says “family”, but Mark's mum is Martha, not “Mom”. Shouldn't it be “Mom”?

I was in a similar situation back when I was married. I knew a girl from college that I loosely kept in touch with. Fast forward 7-8 years or so and I'm out eating with my wife and this random woman comes up and starts chatting with me. Wife is like

I'm friendly but confused and then she's like "You have no idea who I am right?" I had mostly only ever seen her in work clothes and we kept up via text mostly so seeing her in casual clothes, I had no idea.

At first I read this as "...and I'm eating out my wife...", and I was really confused as to exactly where this was taking place if a random woman could come up to you.

It's strange, I'll admit. If in S1 as you have written there was Mom (assuming that you didn't change default names in introduction) it's mean that you played with i-patch active. Then you loaded your i-save in S2 and as you confirmed started with "family button" and not "clones". So it should keep the game using mainly Mom when referring to Martha.

I tried with my S1 to start a new game (you made me do something unholy) and with i-patch active the default name is Mom, without is Martha.
Now I don't have the patience to skip until the end of S1 so i can't load a i-patched save from it into S2, bust starting a new save with the questionaire and having "family" button the name used is still Mom. I don't know why with your playthrough is like playing the "clones" version of S2.
