Isn't that the story of this game?
Season 3 has 113 scenes in the gallery. 18 of them are sex (two of them without penetration). And 8 are My Residence fillers. That leaves 87 story scenes.
Don't worry, I didn't get upset.

I know the "cliffhangers", when they lead to a long-awaited lewd scene, are a bit of a bummer, but they also are something to look forward to in the next update (if in the "right" path).
It doesn't have the same appeal (and doesn't provoke the same "anger") for most players if I had cut the update just before Kate's not-a-fucking-date than doing it before Debbie's date.
But it also wouldn't be a memorable cut (maybe I would have been the most annoyed if I needed to cut Kate's breakfast). I know people are more eager to play an update with an expected appealing continuation (for most players) than one where the players don't know what will happen (or the scene is not with their favorite girls)

0.24 and 0.26 (preceded by "lewd cliffhangers" with Betty and Meemaw in the previous updates) were the updates with a lower increase in new or returning subscribers. 0.24 was also leaked.
0.22 (Norah), 0.23 (Scarlett), and 0.25 (not a clear "lewd cliffhanger" with Eva) behaved differently, beating the record of subscribers each time.

Does that mean I will end every update with players' favorite girls' cliffhangers? No. I will end the update when I need to end it. If it's a "lewd cliffhanger" (as it was in each update in Season 3), it's welcome. I don't care if the "lewd cliffhanger" is with the most or the least loved girls. The story marks the pace.
If it isn't needed because the update is balanced without it, I won't force a cliffhanger.
The story is above the benefit of getting 50-100 new/returning subscribers.
If anyone still remembers My Dorm 10 years from now, I want them to remember it fondly, not because the dev wanted to milk everyone putting cliffhangers in every update, but because the story was compelling.
