0 day patch ? what is that for ? and where did you get it from, ? for all I know the steamversion has the interface from S2 and there is already a Mod build in
zero-day patch is what it said on my Steam update page. It was automatic and I assume done by the Dev. I tried playing with and without the Ipatch and my cheevos don't unlock either way. I didn't use a mod.

Most of the time, mods (any mod I think) breaks Steam Achievements ...
I'm not playing with any mods, except the one that is already included in the Steam version of the game. The patch is just a rpy file, it's not a mod. Achievements don't work without the patch either, so something is messed up. Tried to verify the game files and it said 140 files were missing and needed to be reacquired, but didn't fix the achievement issue.

You know, considering The Thunderbolts* end-movie reveal, I think the game should have changed it's name after the home-invasion reveal ...

The reveal as the F4 ship, right? I had that movie a bit blurred in my mind.

If you're playing the Steam version, are your achievements triggering? Mine are not, none so far. It gives me the in game notification of a Steam achievement, but not the official Steam ping. Did zero-day patch mess that up, or maybe the Ipatch?
Will make me sad if it's the Ipatch.
Maybe having save files of both the Patreon and Steam version are messing with it?
I bought the game 8h ago (way after the Zero Day patch) to check it with my personal account because there were some people complaining about it in the comments (and also to make a review, still 1 short of the needed 10).
They triggered correctly on my side running the game from the Steam app. The Zero Day patch fixed the Music and Diapers (Música y pañales in Spanish) achievement (it was broken) and I got it without any issues.

No, the team just officially became The New Avengers (I started playing the steam version unpatched, and the intro made me think of it.)
Ah, OK. You are right.
If you didn't install the patch (rpy or txt), can you tell me if the achievements are being unlocked on the Steam side, please?
I think adding any of those could break the achievements for some reason.

I'm still talking to not-martha on the phone ... game's been sitting in the background while I do many other things ... and I'm STILL up couple hours past my bedtime. But as soon as I think I should have something I'll check.

That said, as I understand it, Steam monitors stuff like that and any change that doesn't match what's "supposed" to be there is considered a mod and breaks achievements (at least, it did for Skyrim ... so far that's the only game I've played on steam with mods.)

I don't remember if it was that way on the family plan, but it's a bit weird ... maybe the first line was supposed to stop at "remodeling"? I don't know.

Pretty similar ... not exactly the same, but basically exactly the same.

Anyway, I'll consider tracking this and sending something at a later time, since I need to go to bed soon ...

I think I discovered one of the reasons to not get the achievements.
Talking with another player on Discord, he got the 61 achievements unlocked with the patch installed. He ran the game through Steam app. I tried running the game directly from the desktop icon, and it still unlocked the achievements (logical, since it calls the app).
I tried to run the exe directly and it DOESN'T unlock them!
Bloodguard , are you running the game through the Steam app or directly through the exe like you would do with a "normal" update? If you are running it through the exe, can you try running it through the Steam app, please?

I got the Saira farewell achievement, so I'm probably in the clear on that front.

And yes, if I play a Steam version, I play through the app. Cool that the patch doesn't break achievements though.

Steam itself has no achievement disabling for modding a game. That is all the developer.
There are many games I mod and most of them still have their achievements working - the most recent one being KCD2.

This is quite possibly the reason. Running the exe directly would be the same as downloading it here and then playing - it would have no knowledge of Steam or the Steam user playing it. Running it from the desktop icon is pretty much the same as starting the game from Steam and it allows Steam to have a wrapper around the game, allowing it access to that info.

The Steam achievements are triggering for me, and I have the patch file.
I am running the game from the icon that Steam installs on the desktop.

Hmm, I'm using the desktop shortcut. I will try playing from inside Steam and let you know. I also have the Steam version and the old version on my PC. Not sure if that's part of the problem, but when I first started the Steam version and went to save, it put me on page 7 of saves, which is where I am in the old version. All the saves were blank, but that was strange.
I left a review anyway, as the game is great. I can always try again later for the achievements.

Right, so achievements still not triggering, and I think it has to do with having two versions of the game on my PC at the same time.
When I push Ctrl to skip seen content is skips even though this is my first time playing the Steam version. Steam must think I have these achievements already or something. So, the question is, how to reset the Steam triggers for the cheevos.
*edit*
OK, even more strangeness to report. Started a new Steam game but tried different choices from those I made in the old version.
Still no achievement unlocks until the cafe scene with Nora, then like 8 popped at the same time, but they were the opposite of the choices I had made in that game so far. They seemed to be reading my choices from a different play. Also got the monk achievement, which is for rejecting everyone through the entire game. I noticed that like 70% of players have this, so that trigger is wrong.
After this scene it started to give achievements based off my actual choices, and it also stopped letting me Ctrl skip through content. So there is definitely some interference from having the old version of the game on my PC, unless it's something else making my cheevos go crazy.
Finally, I turned off Walkthrough in Steam version, but it was still showing up for some choices, which seemed a bit strange.

If I were doing it, I'd uninstall any versions you had installed in the past (both Steam and standalone), exit Steam, then delete the %appdat%\RenPy\My_Dorm\ folder for the game (just move it elsewhere to keep a backup if you want). Then I'd re-launch Steam and re-install the game, and play from scratch (Day 1). Steam *should* pickup on it at that point. It might even help to try installing to a different drive (not C ) as Steam make different Libraries on separate drives.

All I can tell you is that I am in the same situation and I don't have this problem, but I hope you figure it out soon.
