Do some devs still think that all of the users on this site are demonic little pirates that don't support devs at all? I can guarantee the majority of his patrons found the game on here, liked it, and decided to support him. This site is the biggest platform for adult games, especially with genres like NTR. Every western game I've supported on patreon or other sites was a game that I initially found on here.
For real. So many games i wouldn't know existance of without this site.

Also it provides forum where you can ask if you don't know how to progress.

So far only people complaing about this forum are developers who have been called out on their shit rightfully.

Like Goodbye eternity dev who start insulting people because they told him his undrstanding of what Femdom is, is wrong.

Yeah but if you didnt have this pirate site, you could wipe your ass with your free version, as nobody would see it. Devs are free to complain, but when you project is small and in its diapers, you are purely benefitting from these sites. You could make an argument that once you are big enough, you dont need the "marketing" anymore, but for a small dev? Please.
Studies agree to disagree.

Of course, it's a controversial take, but Kulman has it 100% correct.

By the way, did you know there are restaurants where people pay however much they want, and they are profitable! Of course, don't imagine those are in 3rd world countries. Just penny for your thoughts.

Again, regarding to what Kulman said, many companies intentionally loose money in order to gain market share, before hitting a price tag.

It's a tale as old as time, see youtube, it was once ad free. Once they got the market share, they slap ad after ad, cause there's no competition anymore, people will consume anyway.

Back to this dev, very small game, show your product is worth it. Than we can talk, but right now, it's dead in the water, unless he fully and positively engages with a... pirate site.
I think both of you are still missing my point. I already agreed that piracy can increase sales, especially for niche things like porn games. I am one of those, that tries the games here and then supports those devs that are active and with a game I really like - Sword art online for example.

My point is, that the dev is already giving exposure to his game by providing a free version. Where I disagree with you guys is that leaking it EARLIER gives him additional money. It makes no sense to me that the dev is being called whiny for trying to protect it from leaking earlier.

In fact, one of the games I support, Turning the page, the devs have come out to say that if their game leaks earlier before the free version, they lose loads of money on those months. People are impatient creatures. Thats why in triple AAA market the new money squeezing technique is early access, which for singleplayer games is the most braindead thing ever.

TLDR: Piracy can increase sales but not leaking it before the eventual free release.

Hi dude. I know what site this is, but with leaks like this, it's likely we'll no longer be able to make games. A week isn't an unreasonable amount of time to wait, and it would make a huge difference for us.
I could not find the exact comment because I cant view their profile "Oops, we encountered an error" message or maybe it was deleted anyways. But this was one of the comments anyways.

I get your point, the problem is that you cannot really get a piracy site and then dictate how people pirate. Thats not how it works.

Its like if a marketing firm offered to market your game for 100k and then you suddenly decide that you will pay only 50 k, because you think they are still making profit. Thats not for you to decide.

You can ask people nicely and hope they wont leak. Sometimes it works. But you cant really be too mad about it.

Oh absolutely. I just wanted to make a point to those who were throwing a little bigger temper tantrum and hating on the dev directly. Like man....its just an extra few weeks for free release.
