Take a deep breath and cool down. We all here have the same goal, that of improving the games that CLVG produces. You seem to be an intelligent person and so you should be able to figure out some better ways of accomplishing that goal. Screeching is not one of them. It invokes a corresponding reaction, which means nothing gets improved. As I said, be humble.No.
Sorry, if this dude has been making games for 6 years, you'd figure they'd know how to code stuff like an event system that's not as unhelpful as crap, showing events that are currently unavailable as able to be completed.
You'd think they'd know to make it obvious when progressing an event, be it through new dialogue, or by the event viewer telling you so.
You'd think they'd have dialogue explaining why a certain stat is important to train, and what exactly it does.
You'd think they'd have the good sense to listen to citique.
these ideas are not difficult to impliment into any game, in fact, most of them are available in any number of renpy games, even games from first time creators, so for someone with a claimed 6 years experience? Give over.
The creator is stubbornly digging their heels in, and refusing to polish blatantly clunky aspects of their game, purely cos some dude on the internet called their game clunky.
Also, irony is calling for someone to be humble on a thread where a creator goes "I'M NOT LISTENING TO YOU BECAUSE YOU WERE RUDE ABOUT MY GAME WAAAAH" and arrogantly points out that they're ignoring calls for polish out of spite.
The event system seems to have been invented by CLVG, or maybe they were just an early adopter of it from a game that has long disappeared; I wasn't around that many years ago. The hint system is virtually brand new, and you should be confident that it will be improved as CLVG gains some more experience with it. Same for the stats, they are new, too.
Perhaps you don't also appeciate what CLVG is trying to do with these games. They are supposed to be challenges, and therefore giving players all this information would eliminate the need to figure it out on their own. You have a good brain, and perhaps putting it to work on the challenges would be fun.
They certainly do listen to 'critique' as I have noticed they listen to things I and others say, not necessarily doing any of them, but at least listening. And they work their tails off getting updates monthly, as no other dev does, so they are necessarily quite busy without the leisure time to lengthily consider comments, especially repetitive ones. So please be kind -- I don't want them to get frustrated and slow down the production schedule -- the games are too enjoyable as is.
