Admittedly, Riko is a lost cause because he's basically a complete sissy pushover with a body shape that looks like a female goblin. I'm here for the cute futas, but that doesn't mean I want Riko taking anything up his butt. I don't want any of the characters doing that, and I strongly dislike the idea of it. I'm curious to see if Riko will get some action with Aiko unless the dev decides to make Onori even more of a menace. Her behavior in the previous update was despicable.

I mean, respectfully, generally when games pop up that feature futas and the MC is build like a turbotwink, it very usually means that he isn't a gigachad top, and when none of them feature a vagina except a side character, it's hard to avoid anal.
In fact the only game I can think of that features futas and the MC is a top is Twisted World, so you probably should've expected things like this from the start, just saying.

Man
It's like jumping into a fire and thinking you won't get burned.
I didn't expect that scene at all either, but it's pretty obvious that after some oral work, everything will lead to that.
Even the description of the characters' leveling up says they'll be even stronger...
So you'll probably have a hard time following this from now on...
The telephone game of people with the weirdest subjective interpretations of the new update and people that have not played the update (or maybe even the game at all) going back and forth making up increasingly uninformed reasons to criticize the story is unsurprisingly producing some terrible takes.
Riko's concern with his masculinity doesn't come from a place of wanting to be all the things that make a stereotypically "manly" person, but from his lack of confidence in everything else about himself as a person. He feels incapable of defining and asserting himself as any kind of person because he feels that he is unremarkable or a failure at everything, so he attaches too much of his identity to the one thing he is biologically pre-assigned to be: a man.
Now the problem is, it is already plenty unhealthy to cling to your biological sex to be the entirety of your identity even if you are somewhat compatible with the social expectations tied to it (looking and acting "manly"), but in Riko's case he is just not, he has a very feminine body and a very bashful attitude. Even without any malice behind it, people will accidentally mistake him for a girl or struggle to see the fact he is a "man" as his most important trait and defining of how they should treat him. This leads to Riko feeling like he is failing to assert himself as the one thing that should be impossible for him to fail at, which further craters his self-esteem.
The advice he receives and the resolution he reaches in this last update is that he should develop his sense of self, he needs to figure out what are the things that he likes, have new experiences, and grow the parts of himself that make him happy and proud of who he is.
Riko needs to stop fixating so much on having other people see and treat him as a "man" first and foremost, and instead he needs to work towards having other people see and treat him as Riko, the whole package of a person. But to do that he first needs to figure out himself who "Riko" really is, what are his interests, his desires, his values. Once he knows and develops confidence on who he is, from that exuding confidence people will be able to see who he is and treat him accordingly, and that will gradually improve his interactions with other people and make them grow more pleasurable.
Lengthy character analysis done, I will once again state that this game doesn't have a single meaningful choice, it is a linear story where at most you can do some events in different order, but they play out the same. With that context I do not know how some people can say the game is "ignoring" or "betraying" the player's choices...what choices?
Also idk why some people are making such a big deal about Riko doing anal masturbation for the first time when it was already pretty established he is aroused by dicks and is surrounded by futanari girls that would put most pornstars to shame. Seems like a weird thing to be shocked or disappointed by, where else were some you people expecting the story to go?
I think you missed the point that people have, except from that one guy. There is nothing wrong with Riko doing anal masturbation, in fact, I'm all for it. I also get what you mean by Riko deciding to be more brave and not run away from everything, it was clearly stated in the game lol. The key point lies in the fact that in the same update where Riko asks Suzuki if he doesn't look like a man and we upgrade his boisterous self (I know the dev said it was supposed to be in the previous update but it still doesn't change much), Riko decides to fuck his ass with a dildo . Even after all the abuse from Onori. Maybe we need a Stockholm syndrome self next lmao.
From what I’ve seen in the comments, people are frustrated about how after all the grinding to build the MC’s character, he suddenly makes a huge, unexplained shift in decisions. After all the effort to ‘man up,’ it feels like his growth is tossed aside when he’s just shoved into a situation with no buildup or choice. If this change was inevitable, there should have been a trigger point, but instead, it feels like the game ignores the player’s choices and growth for shock value.

Because the resolution of the conversation with Suzuki wasn't "alright now I'm going to work really hard to achieve my dream of being a manly man", it was the realization that Riko's fixation on being acknowledged as a man is just an outlet of his struggle to be acknowledged as anything that he feels is important about himself.
It is a continuation of an earlier conversation Riko had with Suzuki in the prologue so maybe it helps to have a refresher:
The main thing that Suzuki pointed out is that, as much as Riko pins the source of his problems on the fact his body doesn't look manly, he does not dislike his own appearance, evidenced by the fact he doesn't try to dress in a different way to counter it, and in fact likes his usual clothes that make him look cute. He just feels ostracized and thinks his body is singlehandedly preventing other people from seeing the person he actually is.
The continuation scene in the current update starts with Riko musing on his thoughts about how confused he is over the new feelings he has been experiencing, he is then interrupted by the lustful self butting in saying it sensed some naughty thoughts, clarifying that the feelings Riko is confused by are related to the sexual escalation of his relationship with his futanari cousins. He then decides that just talking with his selves is probably only going to make things more confusing and instead ends up going to Suzuki where they have this conversation:
The conversation then goes on a bit longer with Suzuki advising Riko to not go too hard to avoid burning out, to keep developing his practical skills since he seems particularly concerned about those, and to search his romantic and sexual feelings if he wants to look a bit deeper into what really speaks to him.
Now, in my interpretation, Riko's new sexual experiences with his futanari cousins (only Onori can reach level 5 for now, but presumably Yui and Eri will also count once they get more updates) made him feel confused because as much he may have enjoyed them, he thinks that they make him less "manly" (wild guess, gonna assume all of them will have some element of him fixated and aroused by their big dicks), and is worried that indulging in them could further ostracize him. That worry is what starts his conversation with Suzuki, and the direction Suzuki seems to be trying to guide him to is that his real problem is not that he fails to look manly, but that he lacks confidence in who he is. The goal coming out of it is not necessarily to be more manly but to do some personal growth and gain the kind of confidence that will make it easier for people to understand and interact with him and that will fix his real problems. I don't know if Riko quite realized that yet or if he was just motivated by Suzuki's pep talk, but that seems to be the direction she wants him to take.
Riko needs that "confidence" so that when people interact with him they don't have to be stuck at a surface level assessment of "I guess Riko is a guy? he looks a bit girly, don't know him very well and don't really know what to make out of him", instead they can see he is a spunky person (boisterous self), a slightly naughty person (lustful self), a caring person (tender self), and whatever the other still unrevealed selves are. Even if people might always have a chance of mistaking his appearance for a girl, as long as they can make out something from him that is true to himself, it won't be so awkward for him to interact with other people.
All this to say, let the boy shove his cousin's dildo up his ass, doesn't change the fact he is still a man anymore than the fact he likes to dress cutely or has a feminine body, and if it helps him figure out how to be more true to himself then he is still doing exactly what Suzuki recommended to solve the real problem he has been struggling with since the start of the story.
I'm getting the sense from the comments that this game would be a lot better to play once it's complete. At least if stuff is being updated without regards to the overall time line. Also sounds like dropping the sandbox elements would be a good idea too.
I didn't play much but Onori even without spoilers from this thread comes off as the darling of the show who's more of a sadistic rapist then a brat. The scene in the park implies she would have gone much further then just groping Riko after all. Here's hoping she gets some character growth and moves away from that path.
At this point it just seems like the illusion of choice offered by the sandbox mechanics has only antagonized some people.
Man people really feel passionate about this one though, you could print a book about this game from this thread.

I mean let's be real, sandbox will always antagonize everyone. At best it's bearable, at the worst it's unplayable.
That being said, it will definitely be an overall more cohesive experience if you wait until more of the game has come out. I think it's less that it's not complying to a timeline and more like the timeline is supposed to be a 4 lane road but as of right now it's only 1 lane that stretches on.
I hold out hope because after the Onori/Yui scene first rankled people the Dev bounced back with Yui's story and that worked. I can see how Onori is an easy way to progress the porniness of the story. I don't mind Riko embracing femboydom, its the only real way the plot can go, but I would rather Riko doesn't deserve to have to put up with Onori negging him on that journey.
Onori is kinda of the worst, but, for what it is worth, I never got the impression that the Dev doesn't know that. It feels like her behavior is setting up to be addressed, given that an overarching theme of the story is self-discovery and self-improvement.
Of course her actions are inexcusable if they were to happen in reality, but come on, give it at least a bit of suspension of disbelief, by porn-game standards Onori is still very redeemable.
On another matter entirely, I wonder if the game is ever going to seriously acknowledge the Schizo parts of the protagonist
After all that talk about wanting to be manly or at least be more assured and self confident. The mc jumps right into practicing to be Onori's submissive little slut.
Made a fun discovery while I was reviewing some stuff in the game, I had an inkling that each of the of the new selves you unlock are tied to each of the girls, and then I realized their poses on the selves menu are the same as the characters they are connected to
Masculine and Timid don't seem to be reflected on any other characters as they were the original selves Riko was already used to before the game started.

Same here. I ended up starting a new game and massaging affection with 0x52 a few times to power level up. The dev should have included a save / or "quick start from latest update" if the update is going to be breaking old saves.

It's not just one menu pose, in interaction events those selves use almost half of poses AND expressions of their prototype characters. Quite cool approach actually, imagine all of them using the same original poses but just different in color. Could be funny at first but eventually it'd turn into hell.
Well I enjoyed the new content with the mom, she really has my ideal personality type. Currently looking forward to Eri or Yui getting enough content so I can ignore Onori to max out Susuki and become her "submissive little slut" as Kadmus would say.
Also, damn, she sent him flying opening that door and ramming the dildo home. Best Auntie breaking him in first.
Not to onori he won't. Because how do you come from a conversation like that and immediately started riding a dildo. And it's not even a small one too . I'd understand if he started out just sucking on the dildo and fingering, slow burn type of stuff to sort out his feelings on the matter but fembro skipped all the steps and went straight to stretching his untrained ass.
