same to me sounds like im going to like this chapter more than the next since it's all about Vivian
I guess the dev had the good and the ugly and not quite something bad he could think of in his game...
But to be serious: he has hinted several times that (as I understand it) the transformative process which will be happening with Hutch could be seen as more interesting (and may be less well-trodden in other games) than the events around Vivian. I guess that's where his heart seems to be plotwise.

Every good NTR story should delve deeper into how the affronted party deals with the NTR itself. If you remove Hutch from this equation, the story wouldn't be all that special.

I don't want to derail the thread talking about if this is true ntr and whatnot, but so far this is more like a cuckold relationship. There is consent from Hutch to Vivian escapades. Maybe some of her lovers "steal her" from Hutch in some ending, but I'm pretty sure one ending will be a cuckold marriage or a sharing one.

For me id consider Chapter 1 as NTR but if it goes into more than that it depends on how this next update plays out since it kind of just ended with him saying he wants a open relationship. So it can easily go both ways still for me depending on if she agrees and what kind of boundaries are set assuming they have that conversation.

So far he has not fetishized the betrayal. So he is objectively, but not subjectively-sexually a proper cuckold as I would put it.
