Give us a couple of more installments to figure that out.
A couple more updates and we will be near the end of the story.
At least it helps us suspend disbelief so we can get on with the story.
I think most of us that didn't like completely this second update was because it was harder to do this suspension of disbelief due to her radical transformation from one update to the next.
The setup during the first update was somehow "real". A married couple facing a difficult time, a very bad decision from her and a manipulative man in a position of power willing to enjoy it. Add to that the visual quality, the attention to details, and in particular the dialogues, which had depth. They were functional adults and not robots or raged teenagers interacting. It was in many ways a breaking of the mould. Even if there were already some cliché elements (characters, ntr trigger situation), because, come on, this is a porn game after all.
Personally, I though that everything was in place for an innovative ntr approach in terms of character archetypes because it was already the case with other aspects, plus the willingness of the dev to do something different in the genre. Then, update 2 came out.
We knew that this will be a dramatic story, that their lives will turn upside down, although not in the way it unfolded during the last update. It was an ultra concentrated porn logic dose in one shot. So, right now we have two stereotypical main characters to the max in a general context that is not in consonance with this. Let's see for Hutch, but I'm not expecting him becoming the hero of the story, considering that so far he's a walking cuck cliché. Therefore, I've lost some traction in terms of story immersion.
As
Dealbreaker said, I'm willing to let myself be surprised by the dev. I still think that some elements of the story have been hinted and are in a grey zone. Her smile at the end is because she's happy that the boss still choose her or something else? Her saying that nor the rapist nor Christian could break her was her giving a false impression of strength while raged, or her subconscious betraying her true intentions? Right now, I lean towards the first options.
For things like this, I still like the game/KN. I find it's well above the rest in many aspects. I even will very much appreciate if
SC Stories will reconsider his posture of just doing a one hit wonder and then stop. He's very good at story-telling, not only visually, and keep the player's engagement, both during the game and between updates.
