Why was Hutch so defensive about changing jobs ? in the first part he explained that there were no companies in the area where he could find employment - and there, as it were, the world presented looks like a small American town. In the second part, however, it turns out that just across the border we have a normal downtown with skyscrapers, restaurants, etc. etc. That is, a place where financial companies have their branches - not just two companies in the crosshairs.
However, maybe we are dealing with a game ? a bet ? note that it all looks like the Truman Show. All the background characters are like spectators. Everything in the world happens in a controlled environment. Tony will say - free assets, I will say, you could have done things differently here, because it looks like it all matters. In Garden Party we have all the characters who observer Vi in different situations.

At the Garden Party we have all the characters observing Vi in different situations. The same is true in the bar and in the go-go club. It looks like the fun of a group of rich people who play with our couple (like movie Game, or WestWorld) or like, for example, a bet between Hutch and Chris - faithful wife ?

If you look through all the situations with people in the background you will find that everything is repeated - they just look like an audience that is watching the situation unfold
