The answer is in the same place where : why Hutch allows his wife to do this, even though he knows where it leads. After all, he knows/feels what the visit to Rees will end up with. If we rule out blackmail on Chris' part, it means that he himself is reluctant to participate in this. He expects to break the boredom of a long-legged relationship in her (what Vi & Sun are talking about), a turnaround in the perception of each other, a new opening ? And at the same time he knows he's walking on the edge because he could lose her at any moment - on the other hand, he's bound to lose her in a year or two (because he's also tired of the one-way relationship himself?).

Hutch may not have a very high interpersonal skill, but he must be well aware of the importance of his position in the company. He is not actually a salesperson - but he is (from what I understand from Chris' words) such a co-processor who binds up the whole economic issue of the business/company. He is not, then, an easily replaceable element.

Hutch knows she loves the wine, he just doesn't know the story behind it. The simplest answer - Hutch told CHris that Vi likes the wine. End of story

Let's agree - Vi's appearance is already slightly exaggerated (pornlogic) , and these are her last moments. In 5 years she will no longer be a MILF but a cougar. Chris will take a younger one for himself. She's enjoying the last moments of her promotion, when guys are dragging their eyes after her. Notice how insecure she is about the Hutch-Addison relationship. How often she says that Hutch will leave her, and find a younger one.
I don't think her appearance is exaggerated. I do think you can find woman having this physical appearance with her background (mother, living a normal life) in real life. She's not a bimbo, nor the over-exaggerated big ass or big tits from other games. She's just the curvy type.
As for being a cougar, I thought that this could be a possible outcome once she accepted her sexuality. After this update, I think her sexual encounters will always be based on other people's desires (Christian, "clients", students, etc...), not her owns. Just the contrary of a cougar definition.
She's insecure, but also very selfish. She wants to cheat and have her "husband" all for herself.

once she accepted her sexuality
This is one of those talking points which constantly gets flushed in from real life into these threads here and suggests her being a sort of repressed or underdeveloped vicitm of what exactly?. What is this actually supposed to mean in the case of Vivian? Is there ANY indication she hasn't accepted her sexuality? We have the story from her youth which indicates the opposite. We have the story of her mother giving her advice concerning her marital life - I would call this managing her sex life (to the detriment of Hutch) but certainly not repression of her own desires out of genuine, inner moral motives or shyness. We have evidence of her stopping the advances of Hutch - again one doesn't get the impression that she represses own desires and wishes here, she just doesn't align with his or doesn't desire him enough. And do we get the impression from the actual events with the boss that she is in any way repressed? On the contrary she doesn't seem to have a problem with the sex or the sexual acts themselves, doesn't seem to be self-conscious. Also look at her clothes, look at her harvesting male attention.
I see this again as an attempt to write her history as one of necessary sexual self-discovery in the sense of some liberation. I'm prepared to give her that she is maybe sexually frustrated from the marriage with Hutch (but probably not so much as Hutch himself) but this is totally different from not accepting her own sexuality.
Or is this just another variation of the slut-narrative in the sense that she is a slut and has to accept that?

There's something during the dialogue with Sunshine in the pub (definitely a great scene in character's building IMO) : Hutch has always been uneasy about her being taller than him, so she didn't wear high heels anymore when with him, and that affected her general feminine appearance. So yes, Hutch participated at least a little in her possible frustration. Maybe a point of detail, but it struck me.

Is there ANY indication she hasn't accepted her sexuality
The fact that for more than 20 years she didn't allow herself (and Hutch) to explore different things in the sexual area of the relation.

but certainly not repression of her own desires
That's repressing what she really (and Hutch) wanted. For the sake of pretending to be something else (a "good wife", whatever this mean).

doesn't get the impression that she represses own desires and wishes here
She did. She wanted to be taken in the bathroom by her husband. She didn't allow it to happen because she feared she will be perceived as a whore by him.

By "accept her sexuality" I was referring to the fact that she was frustrated by her actual sexual life, imposed by herself based on showing her mother and Hutch she could be a "good wife". She wanted something different.

What I found interesting in the first update is that her encounter with Christian triggered this need to explore new things. Seeing this is a ntr game it made sense that some cheating or sex outside the marriage was implied. In this update you can see that she wants the rough sex, but also being fucked gently.

On the contrary she doesn't seem to have a problem with the sex or the sexual acts themselves, doesn't seem to be self-conscious.
I don't think she's clearly expressing what she really feels concerning her pleasure. As I said in my other comment, her sexual encounters in this update were almost always based in what the other wanted (Christian, the old guy, even the swinging couple).

And do we get the impression from the actual events with the boss that she is in any way repressed
She's not repressed, but directly manipulated and degraded as a person. It is not a question of being submissive or dominant, it just become a power play between her and Christian, not just fucking her. Even when she asked for gentle sex, at the end Christian imposed some degradation. And this is what is hard for me to believe, because she has some leverage and personal traits to stop or at least impose her own terms. Instead, she always get treated like a sex doll without agency. Just like any other FMC of the other games.

Or is this just another variation of the slut-narrative in the sense that she is a slut and has to accept that?
I think is headed in this direction, with her being totally destroyed as a person in the process, and her husband dragged with her (in his case by his own passiveness, but this could still change in the next update).

What already bothered me in the first chapter was how fast she fall for the boss. After this update, I don't think it will be her exploring anything at all, nor with her "lover" and even less with her still-husband. Every sex encounter will be marked by a question of power. Most probably she will “admit” that she loves to be treated like a whore, to be raped, but in the context of a toxic interaction (Christian, clients, her student and others) not because she really feels this way or want it. The way she has been portrayed by the dev shows that she won't be able to stop it.

She’s like a case study in how a behavioral muzzle — imposed by her mother and the pressure of social expectations — can suppress inner needs. Christian triggers the release of that swollen bubble of repressed desire. The question is whether it will overwhelm her, sweeping her into an endless current of sexual exploration, or whether, like a volcano, there will be a violent eruption that quickly exhausts itself, leaving behind only an empty shell

The truth is, we can't really judge the characters’ actions right now, because we don’t yet know all the motivations driving them. It seems like only after the third part (Hutch Story) will we be able to attempt anything close to an objective commentary.

As for Christian vs Hutch in bed. This is a mystery. Why, Because Vivian has not open up the bedroom like she has with Christian. Every time Hutch tried to get adventurous she shut him down. Maybe if she let him have adventurous sex.....she would be surprised . It might change the game.
the game is perfect as is
Vivian's character never admits that she wants to have sex...
She is the typical wife who is in charge in the family and often leaves her husband high and dry by finding excuses to refuse to have sex
She is in charge in the relationship Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 12.34.48.jpg
But then explain to me how she would solve her husband's possible dismissal if Viv gave Hutch permission to have sex with other women?
This is a nonsense...
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 12.59.33.jpg
Hutch's problem is that he is not “substantial” :p....
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 13.00.37.jpg
Everything starts with her husband's possible dismissal and for Vivian this would be a disaster...there are the installments on her German sports car to pay and her teacher's salary would not be enough because her husband's salary is 10 times higher
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 13.08.19.jpg
Hutch is not an idea man he is a NUMBER GUY!!!

this is not the typical story of an open relationship where Viv gives her husband permission to have sex with other women.
The game is focused only in this 3 protagonists, There are no payouts or payoffs to balance between wife and husband Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 13.23.14.jpg
there will only be some side character... and I think also Sunshine scene is just one time adventure

Maybe for Hutch there will be something with Addison?
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 13.32.52.jpg
although it may be another defeat for him.

For Vivian there will be some student like Marcel and she might go to the mechanic if she has another breakdown, But I think they will all be one-time adventures... the main characters are the 3 that are seen on the cover

In this story it is now clear that Hutch will not be fired just because of his wife's idea that includes hiring her as a consultant to close deals with millionaire clients (fuck fuck clients)
And aalso Hutch knows that very well!

It doesn't matter if Hutch screws a secretary...because it is Hutch who has decided to sacrifice himself so that his wife can continue to live in the townhouse driving an expensive sports car he gave her...

It seems obvious to me that Hutch loves Vivian a that his wife loves him but even if she feels a little guilty when she meets a “substantial” man..she cannot resist his desire to be used and raped... because this makes her feel like a powerful woman!
The lioness that slept in her has woken up and even Vivan can't stop her... she can't stop herself anymore.

From her conversations with Sunshine, it's clear that she-mother-teacher-is so ensconced in this sauce that she can't even get past the level of - I'll give Hutch's ass, because it destroys her whole thought pattern. She needs an external factor (chris) to make a revolution. And as we know - every revolution devours its children.

Thanks for your detailed answer - but judging by that standard, every man hasn't fully accepted his sexuality because he of course constantly restrains it with regard to how he will be perceived by others, not least his on gf/wife. I myself would use that expression in a much more narrow sense.

I think after this update we can draw some conclusions about her and her relation with Christian. From now on, it seems that she won't be doing any "sexual exploration", just accept and endure what others want to do with her. It seems that the power issue will be a main aspect. It's not a frustrated wife having an affair with the husband boss anymore, but a socio/pyschopath having fun with a broken doll.

As for Hutch, we have to wait for the next update, but it seems that his fate won't be any different if take in account what the dev said, that was in the line of much he's willing to endure, if there is any limit to it.

I think it all depends in communicating clearly what you want to your partner. Something that these two are strongly lacking. Once done, you can come to an agreement, or at least try it once, just as Sunshine suggested to her.
Social morals and family background will also play a role, but if it's agreed by you and your partner I can see overcoming this limitation. Vivian's character wanted to break this, but she didn't understand it could have been done with her husband.

Vivian's character wanted to break this,
I respect your opinion, but we must not forget, that nothing of this, of her sleeping with the boss in Ch 1 had anything to do with her sexuality. She did it because the boss requested it and she felt blackmailed. I still don't think that her actions and her relation to the boss are driven by sexual desire or more precisely by her own sexual deficits. But I have to recognize that that opinion is gaining ground here and as I said before one can see that the dev gave fuel to that view by the Sunshine episode. I still don't buy it characterwise. And if it would be the case it would take away from the first chapter in my opinion.

Even if it can surprise you, I agree with you. She felt compelled to pleasure the boss to save her husband job. All this: "it's you that did it because you wanted" it's him manipulating them, specially her.
That's why this obsession of her with this guy, once she realized she was manipulated, it's hard to believe. I get it. He fucked her very well, and she found out she wanted something different. But then being treated like a street whore, sending her to being raped, it's not her enjoying her sexuality, it's her as a person being destroyed. So this downfall it's no believable with a woman like she was portrayed in chapter 1, even if she was a whore beforehand (something that it's not completely clear either, but hinted). Not that it's not possible, but it will take much more time, and it could even be enjoyable to see a KN/game like this.

Well, I think you've just explained why CH2 has had such a mixed reaction to people. CH2 Vivian and CH1 Vivian feel like different people. Or at the very least the escalation of her from CH1 to CH2, is kind of insane. I genuinely felt bad for her after CH1, and I was rooting for them as a couple. Whereas now, I just wanna see her world burn, and for her to suffer some form of karma/comeuppance.

She's awful...:cautious:

you forget that in chapter 2 she doesn't just have rough sex with Chris....
Christian is nothing to her.... She apparently hates him as she hates the client...but she cannot resist her hidden internal desire to want to be raped and abused

She hates herself that is the true!

unfortunately the sex scene between Vivian and the client in the hotel is cut the author dwells on the fact that she knows her husband is waiting for her in the car but it is obvious that she fucks the client for about an hour or maybe more.
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 16.13.01.jpg Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 16.31.50.jpg
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 16.31.02.jpg
She is only able to tell the truth when she is with a "substantial" man.. and the Client is also substantial

immediately after being willingly raped in the hotel...instead of going with her husband to whom she had promised an evening between the two of them...she goes straight to Chris's house!... And it is here that we discover the real Vivian.... indeed here we discover the lioness Vivian in all her glory
Screenshot 2025-06-26 at 16.26.10.jpg

in this scene she tells the truth to Chris and after telling it she feels relaxed and asks Chris to fuck her gently AGAIN! After all she has already been fucked 2 times brutally, first by the client in the hotel and then by Chris... and here after this revelation she asks Chris to be fucked gently for the third time in the same evening.

THIS IS THE TRUE VIVIAN!

The rest of the time when she is working as a teacher or when she is at home being a good wife she hides her true sexual nature from herself...because she knows it is improper to show her desire for extreme sex...she has a front personality for the day (Mrs Jekyll).... but at night she becomes Mrs Hyde...

Asking Chris for gentle sex that same night is like doubly cheating on her husband, because I assumed she only wanted gentle sex from her husband, to whom she had promised an evening to herself.
She asks for more sex 3/4/5 times in a single night after she was raped all the evening by a stranger client!

She really seems to be falling in love with her husband's boss... given that he is the only one at the moment who seems to understand her better than Hutch

Oh! I'm totally aware and I agree. I started my sort of "review" saying that I have mixed feelings as well.
In chapter 1, she was a woman that made a mistake having good intentions, and then was manipulated by a guy she felt attracted and that shook her (their) world. In chapter 2, it was rather portrayed as a broken sex doll, with an irrational obsession with a psychopath, with her being totally aware of it and without having a record of having lived through a traumatic episode to accept such a thing. Maybe Paris wasn't as idyllic as she described it at the restaurant and could explain why she tried to "hide" her past as a "whore" and fell for Christian so fast.

I agree with what others said, the goal of the dev was to show her as a despicable human being such as Christian. So that those that wanted a redemption stopped being compassionate with her. Seeing the reactions, he succeeded. For me he overdid it, and Vivian it's just another cliché FMC unable to stop her life fall into pieces. Plus, seeing that he said that the story will go darker and darker, you will enjoy watching her self-destructing. Let's wait for Hutch, but I wouldn't hold my breath that his fate will be any different.

I know it's been done to death here recently, but on a slightly different note to it, being seduced by an older man (about 40 when she was about 19?) and being able to fit a full penis in her mouth does not make Vivian a whore before she met Hutch.

I wasn't referring her as a whore only because of this. IIRC, when she described her tramp tattoo she said to the hair dresser that she somehow tried this "lifestyle" if I can call it like this. I also stated that it's not even something for granted. SC stories gave some hints, but it wasn't conclusive. That's why it's more difficult to understand her actual situation.

She doesn't say anything much about it at all in that scene:
Code:
Stylist: “I like the one on your neck, it's cute. What's the story behind it?"
Vivian: “Nothing. Just a young philosophy major who made a mistake."
Stylist: “No... not a mistake. It's nice. 'Dream within a dream'"
Stylist: “Makes people stop and ponder a moment. That's good."
Vivian: “Well, it does seem fitting for me as of late."
Stylist: “Is that your only tattoo?"
Vivian: “~ Sigh ~ No, I have one other on my back... lower..."
Stylist: “A tramp stamp?"
Vivian: “Ugh... I hate that word."
Vivian: “My best days are when I forget it's there."
Stylist: “~ Light chuckle ~ Hehe... it's nothing to be ashamed of. Hard to find a girl without one these days."
Stylist: “Here... look!"
Stylist: “So, if the philosophy major got the neck tattoo, who got the lower back one?"
Vivian: “Someone who's no longer here."
