The absurdity of the situation for me is that image of him watching in the window is so much like what we players have seen various times as boss and wife have sex, and she has not seen at all. Should we chalk it up to sloppy story telling on SC's part? At least he could be watching through patio doors or something.
I was of the same opinion after CH1. I thought it would stay RELATIVELY grounded, and we were gonna get like a, threeway romance type of corruption story? if y'know what I mean? Vivian battling between her love and loyalty to Hutch and her feelings of lust and excitment for Christian, and that would be all we would get sex-wise mostly, for a majority of the story. But after playing CH2...and watching her go rogue and do all that stupid ass shit she does...I think all bets on that are now off, and I'm more of the opinion now, that she's PROBABLY going to end up banging all these dudes he's been introducing and leaving slight teasers for. Like the Mechanic, The Twins, The Token BBC Student etc etc. And I think the son being involved in some way with it, will just be some more really fucked up drama that I wouldn't be suprised by at this point.
Na.. it is more powerful to have that be an image in her mind. That shows she is still haunted by her Husband on her infidelity's. And she still cares that much about him to think that !
Apart from the last sentence, about Sawyer, I'm 100% with you on this entire post. I still retain hope that those specific characters you mention won't become notches on the bedpost, but as you say, all bets are now off.
I think the relevant quote from SC is that this game will not be mediocre, not now and certainly not at the ending. I don't expect that Wife will fuck any of those probabilities. There is simply too much else going on with her trying to makes sense of her life, as much as she might like to see the mechanic's dick stick out from his shorts.
She may be not haunted but starting to like the idea of being watched by him and seeing him in that role. It's empowering (to use her language).

I thought that too, and then I watched her in CH2...She needs very little reason to jump on some dudes cock now. I've explained how I think the BBC one will go at least above. As for the mechanic, she'll probably end up there again at some point for some random reason, a flat tire, engine trouble or some shit. Then he'll flirt with her again, but this time she'll actually bite and go for it...Simple really.

Thinking about it - the dev does make sure, that every time Vivian fucks, Hutch is present - either in person, or waiting in the hotel lobby or virtually in her imagination. Only time not is with Sunshine. This has to mean something. Tell me what .
The thing that fucking those guys does, I think is that it completely undoes what has gone before with Boss and Husband. In the process of going that way, she looses them both, Husband and Boss, and heads nowhere. Well done or not, this is not what I would call a grand ending, it is mediocre beyond beyond. SC says he is not doing that. I take his word for it.

Showing the partner being cheated on that is. I think you see it so much in this one in particular, because it's trying to be a darker shitty feelings kinda story. And usually it's like a cheatcode, for making most people feel some kind of empathy/feel bad. I really hope it's not in this case, pointing towards Hutch becoming an actual cuck. Good observation. His presence need not make sense in terms of logistics or his appearance or whatever. He is always there one way or the other. This is not coincidence. I agree that his appearance at Boss's house as he carries Wife off to be fucked is part of that, even if she imagines it.
