(pure speculation)

I'm still wondering if, by any chance, Hutch didn't know about the hotel bonus.
He was in on the whole negotiation with the client...
There's also the wine story, did Hutch give this info to Christian in order to prepare the “business meal”?
In order not to lose his job, was he more active than we think (knowing that she had already cheated on him with the boss).
At this point, I just can't see it. Whether that will change once we've seen where Hutch is at, I don't know - all I will say is as much as I don't think it will be the case, and I won't like it if it is, I bet the dev can make it work.

I have long thrown in the idea that Hutch may be privy to a lot of the action with Vi. The motif of “testing” the fidelity of a wife has been around since ancient times.

to this - really, after 20 years of relationship, you have a completely different optics on such matters. Maybe he himself recognizes that passion has died out in their lives, and allowing “controlled infidelity” is supposed to help them, at the same time he himself sees that it is impossible to talk about it with Vivian, who is completely closed in her wife-husband thinking without spice. With things starting to get out of hand ?

that would explain this strange behavior of Hutch's

I think perhaps a lot of people are reserving judgement on Hutch a bit until we get his part of the story. At the moment, we've not really seen much of him, certainly not in comparison to Vivian (and even Christian, given the time they've spent together). So people have been critical of Hutch, but there's still that uncertainty in there - where is his head at? Why does he seem so detached and lacking in fight? We've basically seen him from Vivian's POV (not literally, though), and need to see him from his own POV now.
For me neither Wife nor Husband are deserving of criticism. That privilege goes to Boss. The ultimate corrupter. Other creepy names also apply. No fun right? We are not here to be rational in our criticisms. We are here to have fun. And as always, criticizing victims is safer than criticizing the people who have power over them.

I'd say that is possible if you like conspiracy. I don't think his actions show any such knowledge or participation.

Indeed, the idea that Hutch may know more than we think about what's happening to Vivian could help make this story darker. What's more, it could go some way towards “rebalancing” the story, with all the wrongs done to Vivian and, on the other hand, Hutch who, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, participated in them.

One more weapon for Christian, who could tell Vivian everything Hutch did or said...

How very ugly. SC promises a grand finale. Is there something grand about your speculation?

Did it appear to you that he was unsurprised at all as he witnessed the fucking in the back yard and listened to it in the bedroom?

Anyway, since you have guessed this possibility, it can't be part of the surprises that SC is planning.

It seems to me that, more than anything, CS's attempt to give Wife wise counsel with Sunshine tells us about SC's real attitude towards her.

And it was always a bad idea and let the husband look like a fool. Sounds like something form Thousand and one nights and she ends up with the handsome slave or something.

I like that. But I guess the dev would have chosen a slightly different manner of narration for that scenario. Psychologcially we up to now are served with a sort of POV of Hutch - things happen to him and he doesn't know how to cope, that's basically it. In the other scenario we would probably have more of Vivian's POV that she confronted with the events and struggles - then the pay off later would be greater. As things stand now, we as viewers therefore would feel duped and deceived if such a revelation came. It would be deceiving storytelling which is always kind of cheap.

Deceptive cheap storytelling. I totally agree. Not all of us think you would write such stuff, SC.

My money is on Hutch is either Hutch is traumatized to the point of shock making him retreat into himself questioning his own self worth, or at some point during this story he started cheating as well and is feeling just as guilty as Vivian did when she did what she did

First one seems likely and is what I am expecting he's been doing, I just hope he's gonna come out of it, and give me something good in CH3. That second one WOULD be spicy tho ngl... But I don't think he has the balls to have been doing that.

I'm just thinking of reasons on why a man would unwilling let his wife cheat on him, and those are the only two that made sense given the story. It's hard to speculate about Hutch because we have nothing to go off of. I could speculate that day he disappeared he went to a divorce lawyer who advised him on how to play this out, but given the genre I doubt he'll consider divorce until maybe the final act, in which case all that money Vivian will have gotten under the table may come back to bite her, but I think there's zero chance of that happening.

Yeah like I said, I think the first one is the one that is most likely, and the one we're probably going to get. And I think you're completely right about him divorcing her. It would be really fucking satisfying ngl, but it's just wishful thinking IMO. The game is called "My Husbands Boss" not "My Ex-Husbands Boss" And with us only being on CH2, it's waaaaaay to early for that to happen IMO.

The only other thought I had that could explain his actions, was that maybe Christian is Blackmailing him with something. And this is what he wants to stay hush hush. Like he basically told him, "Stand aside and let what's going to happen with your wife, happen. Or I'll pull the trigger on whatever I have over you" Could explain why all Hutch seems to be doing at this point, is just kinda floundering lightly and not doing shit. He's just hoping that Vivian will resist, or just outright stop it on her own. But she won't, because she's a hoe...:cautious:

It's all on my boi Hutch now tho, to make or break this shit for me...

LET'S GO HUTCH!!!

The second one is really doubtful. For now, Hutch is a man down on his luck and was about to lose everything. Hes likely in denial about a lot of shit and pushed it to the back of his mind or is justifying it for the sake of the marriage.

I'm with you on most of that, but I can't root for Hutch just yet. If it I find out he's secretly furiously masturbating with tears in his eyes to spy-cams once he thinks nobody is watching, I'm going to delete all my posts and pretend I never enjoyed this story. Basically I can't root for Hutch until his character/personality have been established.

Oh yeah dude I'm fully with you on that. I'm just being hopeful and optimistic ahead of time, that Hutch IS going to spice this game up for me soon, and hopefully become someone I can root for. Because if he does just turn out to be a pussy cuck at heart. Then for me...It's just JOEVER...

I hate Vivian, I hate Christian. Hutch is the last hope to give me somebody to root for in this story. If I don't get that, I'm out bby  ...So we'll see after CH3... :ROFLMAO:

and what would you say - if Hutch met with Christian this Sunday ? (Or - with the mythical Mayor, for example)

Can you imagine if chapter 3 is from Vivian's perspective and she walks into their house after her fun with Christian and hears another woman screaming Hutch's name? She'd walk in and see Hutch giving someone the deep strokes and ask how could he. That would "balance" things out

Well think about it ... Dev has most of this chapter about Hutch. Do you think he will make it boring ? No, Just like the rest f his story .. He will make us think about what Hutch is doing. So that says Hutch WIL be doing something... Just my opinion. This game will break open soon !
