I still think there was a letter or note in the dress box offering his job for sex with her , you can see as they go to leave and in the car journey and even up till the point before they bang , she's fighting with herself for the decision she's made in her mind almost fighting her self with it
Tho the bedroom scene was over the top personally talk about kicking a man when he's down jesus that was a lot personally the garden scene on its own would of been fine
Sti
ll could of been one in the box and we just never saw it , no I firmly don't like Vivian let's be honest I've not been shy about it haha
But I guess the letter in the box theory is me giving her some benefit of the doubt rather than it being after that meeting for the first time she instantly like I'm gonna fuck him and that will make everything ok
I'm trying to give her some form of redemption here and it's just got away from her
I don't think there was a letter in the box saying that, for a couple of reasons. One, it would be pretty stupid of Christian to do, as it would be a piece of evidence that could be taken to Hutch and also to any employment tribunal or whatever. It would be a really poor move that I just can't see someone with any sort of brains making, if he was actually looking to get out of that night what he did get out of it.
Two, he tells Vivian a few times that he has never made this offer, and it's all in her head. It's part of his manipulation, making her think that he's forcing her, but he's very clear in not saying the words. It's part of the "the door was always open, you just had to leave" talk. If there was a note detailling his plan, he wouldn't be able to go down this path and say those things, as she'd just turn around right away and say "that's not what your note said."
As far as the car ride goes, whether she knew what actually would happen or not, I think it's clear that Vivian knew that
something would likely happen, and she was psyching herself up for it (either to do it or to defend against it). I took it as telling herself, as much as Hutch, that she could look after herself, and that she might have to suffer a little discomfort to get what she (they) wanted out of the evening - remember of course that they were going there with a plan of their own.
