No, but MND 1 was edited and if you already played MND 1 it wouldn't have synced up with MND 2.
This will be fixed.

Playing MND 1 is a must for MND 2.
MND 2 is not a sequel, it is just the latter half of the story of MND 1, same goes for when MND 3 releases.

Maybe RustyV should rename them to "MND chapter 1" and "MND chapter 2" in the OP to avoid further confusion from the new players.
