You can tell these two go together. It's not an overlay that is done in game, it's the actual png that's altered. There are about ten scenes with 3 images each that have these overlays.

In fact, Japanese games (all of them, from action-rpg to porn games), are first developed and completed (they also have their respective channel-chats, which the various publishers devote to the developers, like a DL site, but with a support method, completely different from the Western one), then they are purchased.
And between development and completion, there is also something called BugFix and internal BetaTester.
But some (Western) developers don't seem to want to understand this.
I think the explanation is very simple;
- The way, technique, and "corporate" policy of many platforms, such as patreon, is essentially the politics of debt. (I develop this, if you give me this).

Since Patreon is a western site essentially. That's how you see it. What you are missing is that the people on Patreon. Producing these kinds of game are not actually game developers. A lot seem like hobbists(2D/3D) who saw a model to make a buck.EG Begger, his renders got better over time(as good as he could get with Klub17) Some are writers who see a different way to publish. I guess you can call these games technically. Most of them seem like little more than a new age porn comic book. From your description. You seem to be talking about serious game developers. Instead of "I had a heart attack and am a 1 man show." like Begger. I never understand why these types can't outsource work during such times. Oh right, it's only about the money.
Perhaps I did not express myself well, and for that I apologize.
What I mean is that there is a lack of will to do, both technical and artistic.
That is, the classic developer, with today's Western mentality, creates games in the style of "Cyberpunk 2077."

That's only because Incestor was making so much. He stayed in the top 5(estimated to 30-50k per month) of Patreon game publishers. Even after nadda for over a year. His scamming was therefor really magnified. Incestor Is also stupid. He could pay a writer and 3D artist 5k each a month and still made out like a bandit.
The old wars in the Milfy City thread were fun. His c*ck s*ckers, I mean supporters, went on and an update around the corner. "Inside" information rumors and such. The tough part was that there were always people just finding the game for the first time. I must admit it still holds up. I can hardly play anything these days. These newbies would come in raving about how great Incestor is. He really is the worst LOL.
I'm glad to see the Mods not propping up lazy creators by preventing legitimate criticisms these days. I guess I should donate again.

I thought that you were respectful and thoughtful. No need to apologize. I think this is more of my point. Before Patroen these people would never reach a point near publication. Now people put up demos with just few renders. A bit a plot. And a hook(Patreon) n the water. Now you have a group of people who want to be part of the development. Add porn into the mix. And all normal rules go out the window. For me, give me a complete game. These games are free for me. I wouldn't even pay 20 for a complete game of this type. Back to my point. Now people who actually have passion, but no skill. Need for money, but have no skill. Can publish on the new crowd share funding that Patreon made accessible. There's a lot of reasons. Why this has come to pass.
