VN Ren'Py My New Memories: The Beginning [Ch.2] [Killer7]

So, quick question, did Jackie know Anna or not because we have multiple dialogue instances that contradict each other on this part.

For example when MC and Jackie are at the Burger restaurant you have these lines:

Jackie: "No, I'm serious. I feel like you are heavily underestimating how much she meant to all of us. Especially you."
MC: "I don't think i can follow. You and Anna were close?"
Jackie: "All of us were!"

A bit later in the same scene:

Jackie: "I wish I met her. The stories you guys told me were full of joy and love."
"I really liked them."
MC: "Yeah...I kinda wish you met her too"
"But she'll be back. You can catch up with her then."


This isn't the only instance where i noticed this so i'm really confused about this point.

Yeah I forgot to add the part where the MC says "but you never met her" and she would have said "but all of you talking about her made it feel like I did", I thought I added that part but I didnt.

Yeah, my memory is foggy as well. There probably is some leeway here, though they'd have to be careful about Bethany. If memory serves, Sabrina was afraid of Beth's reaction, but in MNMTB, Bethany seems very open-minded, almost to the point of hedonism (you're an adult, do whatever).

I haven't gotten too far in the prequel yet. On the one hand, there should be several shower scenes (not just talk about them showering together). On the other hand

seems like a big contradiction to what was in the main game.

Yeah... At a certain point I had this thought as well, but then I remembered that 20 years passed in between. A lot can happen to cool things down, and arguably that has already happened (end of chapter 2 of the prequel). If anything, it seems Beth isn't as open-minded as she appeared at first, which gives the twins reason to pause.

Either way, I wish we could just go forward with the main game and reconstituted assets.

True, I yearn for more MNM as well, but it is what it is. MNMTB is a fine substitute for now. I'm more worried about what will happen when K7 retrieves his assets, and he'll have three games in development.

is Jackie the mother of MC's adopted daughter(s)? The second I saw her she reminded me of the cop. Then they had all those conversations about adoption and her telling MC that if he ever adopts he should be honest with them from the beginning that they are adopted.

I don't think so. It would mean that her daughter wasn't the MC's (otherwise he'd be a biological parent) and that she was willing to give up her daughter while she had bad experiences with adoption herself. It doesn't fit her character.

What I think you're picking up on is K7 having designed characters for MNMTB that act as stand-ins for characters we know from MNM.

does that mean Jackie is dead?

No. Well, we can't really know... But I very much doubt K7 will go that route. This is wholesome stuff, not sad stuff.

True, I yearn for more MNM as well, but it is what it is. MNMTB is a fine substitute for now. I'm more worried about what will happen when K7 retrieves his assets, and he'll have three games in development.

Once I have my assets back the full focus will be on My New Memories and MNF2, with MNM:TB serving as a "filler" when I'm burned out from writing/rendering for the other two. MNM:TB Will also end sooner eventually, while MNM and MNF2 will be going for quite a while.

I feel like you guys keep forgetting that the MC in MNM has no memory of anything up until the end - where he gets it back but not more is Shown or told there. Thats basically my get out of jail card because even things like age can be misinterpreted in terms of timelines etc.

I know this kinda like a cop out but its the best way to Deal with it since the prequel has not been a thing until last year and Chapter 3 of MNM has been out for a shitton of time

The problem is that cop out would only work from the MC's perspective, not from everybody's else, if the MC has half a dozen distant girlfriends added on top of Lena, like I said previously you'd expect them to turn up quickly after the accident. Sure the MC might not remember them, but the rest of the family would, if he has possibly half a dozen more children existing, you'd expect someone to have mentioned he has pictures at home. Look I get it you don't want to have to rewrite MNM, but even you have to admit this game would cause significant deviations to the background we have been made aware of in MNM.

I am not saying you'd need to change everything in MNM, but I am saying it need adjustments to account for this game, add some discussion that justify everyone not being there yet, maybe they were told to stay away to avoid overwhelming the MC more than he already has been, the twin can mention he has a large 'extended' family that are waiting until he recovered a bit to come visit them, their can be a mention of some other houses nearby that belong to the family where they might be lodging at, to avoid redoing graphics mention the pictures of the rest of the family is in a album that is off screen, maybe correct the text the mention that the whole incest & polyarmory were thing purely originating from Anna, and such, its all text changes nothing that would significantly change what is happening and require altered graphics, just need an addon or two to some discussions.

Ok so i was super excited for this update but sadly couldnt finish it due to the constant long arse repetative conversations about a secret that i cant tell for a few days. I mean come on Killer7 you dont need to repeat the same shit in every scene and drag it out its just annoying as hell and pointless it made me lose my interest in the whole thing
