No progress whatsoever, I'm also waiting on my lawyer to get back to me who wanted to get an update on the case file at the end of 2024 ( December, I guess ).

Thing is, I can't threaten with legal action right now since I'm at the mercy of the state attorney presenting the charges and then the eventual court case against me. Whatever happenes there, I don't know, but they have no right to keep my equipment if nothing incriminating was found on it. Let's say they found something on my phone but not on my pcs, then they can only confiscate and destroy my phone, not my pcs. But given the fact that in both of my pcs was a 4090 and that thing is heavy, there is a high chance this part of the hardware is fucked anyway. I can 100% sue for damages there and those parts are still expensive. Theres still the ~5 hardrives ( 2 per pc and then the portable SSD ) than I want back, especially one SSD that only contains DAZ3D Render assets, nothing else ( around 800gb of stuff ). The state attorney never replied to the requests of my lawyer to hand this one out to me or to at least provide copies of the .duf files. There is still the situation where the investigating police woman thinks that she found "teenage porn" in those files, basically claiming that 91x91 unrendered thumbnails for daz3d contain underage characters. The examples mentioned Sabrina, Lena and Olivia. The truth is, there are "nude" previews of Olivia in these files, but it's basically just her model T-Posing. Not a single sane person could ever make out on a 91x91 pixel big picture if this character is underage or not ( she doesn't even claim it's a child or anything, just that she can't spot any breasts ). This situation is so fucking bizzarre because I'm sure she tried to get my games taken down by now, since she knows I'm making a decent amount of money with them. The fact that all three games are still freely available everywhere on the internet without the need for some shady dark net shit shows that she won't have success with that. Hell, I even released a new one January 1st.

I don't know, it's still a super weird situation for me. If any of those investigators would just bother to play my games they would know they don't contain anything illegal, like, not even remotely close.

That would usually be the case with shit like that, except when the investigating police officer ( let's say, a young woman, maybe 28 years old ) thinks that your stuff contains incriminating files. Then she just doesn't have to hand out shit for as long as they are investigating...

i was merely responding to the it being withheld for personal enjoyment that be a major risk considering its digital and you just copy pasta,i'd still be risky cause that seems illegal in off itself especially with out your permission as the content owner/dev

I still don't get they don't just make a copy of the files. Nowadays I think there's equipment that mirror entire hard drives without having to manually copy and paste, and I'm sure if given the chance you would buy some brand new drives to get a duplicate of the files.

Hello there you super cute and extremely sexy people!

Another week, another progress update!

I'm going to be honest, I did not expect so many different reactions regarding the idea to release a "snippet" of Chapter 4. I guess I didn't really communicate what I meant with it as well, so here is my idea more thought out than it was last week.

My idea was that you basically download this version, load your savegame and then I will tell you (ingame) that you're about to play one event that happens on the first day of Chapter 4, an event that involves Sabrina. Of course they are going to talk about what happened on this day in general ( Anna, the Jessica situation, Karla and the twins arriving ) but they'll also talk a lot about themselves, their first experiences together after what happened with Lea in the prequel etc. This snippet will last around 15 minutes I'd say, you will get some nice refreshing info on what is currently going on in Chapter 4 through dialogues ( I know this can be evil as well since you want to see the full chapter right away ) and you also get to see Sabrina in her "current form" again. During this talk you will get a longer scene that will actually happen in the next prequel Chapter as well - So you basically get two previews in one game, if that makes sense. At the end of this I'll make sure you get redirected to a proper point to save the game and then once Chapter 4 releases, you will start where you are supposed to start. I'm not doing this only to not have my game marked as "abandoned" or anything, I also feel like releasing something like this might put some minds at ease that have been waiting for almost 2 years to see something about the main game again. Today's render is actually part of this event, by the way. What do you think? Is this something you would want to do? This will be a one time event as well, I will never release a snippet like this again and will just provide full chapters to the public ( supporters will still get to play each day of course ).

I also put a decent amount of work into the next prequel chapter and My New Family 2 again. I'm going to be honest with you guys, seeing all the positive feedback after I released the prequel really put my mind at ease by such a huge amount, it's not even funny. I was worried sick that you guys would not like it or think it's a waste of time so I'm super happy that I can continue to provide future chapters. I'm currently not one hundred percent sure if I will release "a lot" of chapters after I can fully work on the main game again, I feel like that is something you guys will decide on your own when you played the next chapter. My New Family 2 on the other hand is going to be an interesting thing on its own. I kinda want to make it so even if you have never played MNF, you can still start with MNF2 if you want. Given the nature of the relationships in the game it can be kinda funny to see people jump into this one right away since usually those games all evolve around the fact that these relationships just started to form. And the release for the first MNF2 chapter might be sooner than you think!

And I think that's it for now. If anything new comes up or if I hear anything regarding my files, I'll let you guys know. Until then, stay awesome!

I wonder, if recreating characters that impossible? I have general idea what's going on but was waiting 2 years the solution? As far as I understood, there is no endgame when they will return the data if ever. I've never created anything on Daz, so go easy on me if I am saying something stupid but if the dev is the creator of the game anyway and have the means of creating new game, is creating old characters and making renders with them for chapter 4 is impossible? I understand that creating around 1TB when you already did is at best chore but would not it make sense accepting situation as it is and recreate everything?

If you basically only use premade chars then recreating them is easy. Thing is, my chars contain like 10-20 morphs, and I dont know the preset chars I used anymore, or at least most of them... And of course I dont know how much % I used of each morph..

Hey Killer7 I don't know how you'd feel about it, but you could always drop a small update that only involves the two characters you still have the assets for. The mc's face hasn't been seen, right? Maybe some sort of side story that fits into the main one? I'm no writer lol, but I imagine you could do it. The abandoned tag gets removed if you release an update as long as it isn't just bug fixes I believe. Use their own lame rules against them. Then you get 18 months before it is reapplied.
