Old saves ran fine on my end. The issues I had were that the music cut out once the update started (that might just be that there isn't any) and after the Julie and Daphne scene I get an error and can't continue after that.

It may be the incest patch; if you're using it, make sure you're using the latest one.
Works just fine for me.

Correct.
The links get updated when the patch is done/updated. Sometimes in just a few hours after the release, sometimes it might take a day.

download the pc version, merge the game library into the old game, it worked for me..

I DL'd and installed the IP yesterday, and I see the game updated today. The Incest Patch in the OP, is the .9 version then? It didn't really say when I clicked on it.

Sounds like a modded save playing up. Make sure you get the updated mod posted just a few comments above yours.
