maybe you should try to explain why you think this game deserves a better rating
when you actually look into the dialogue and personalities of the characters, the writing, the facial expression and so on, you will realize how bad this one is compared to other games

to be fair, the game did start out a lot better, there were mysteries to uncover, and maybe we can explore the mmo game MC used to play, you want to know more about the characters
but as the development continues, the game turn into the same shallow where you don't care about any of the characters. you don't attach to them, you don't like them or hate them, you just don't care about them anymore.

can you even tell us what kind of person the girlfriend is? she's supposed to be the most important character in a NTR game right? but no she's probably the least developed character.

If you really like this dev you should try his other game, this one is doomed. only a complete rework can save this game.

This game has average graphics, has animations, multiple paths, good pace and tension buildup, easy to understand plot, no frustrating mini games, some tags that I search for and one of which is NTR, and it's a difficult tag to pull off and I feel dev is doing a good job with it.

The major value of this game is the declinations of the path you chose, which is very rare to see and I imagine difficult to build.

But overall, this is a game you can play for FREE. Someone puts effort into this and you can chose to profit from it without participating in his patreons.

When I see 1 star games, it's either from a reputation burnt dev, or a dev that uses a paywall, and you are telling me this game deserves a 1.5 star because the characters lack emotions? What am I missing here?

I've played top rated games that were absolute garbage to my eyes, trolling the player. This game has average graphics, has animations, multiple paths, good pace and tension buildup, easy to understand plot, no frustrating mini games, some tags that I search for and one of which is NTR, and it's a difficult tag to pull off and I feel dev is doing a good job with it.

Actually, My Summer isn't published for free. I wasn't the one who published v0.18 on F95. You can check previous comments to see that they told me I should give 'free versions', but I pissed them off because I refused it. To be honest, it will be stupid to release free versions myself when someone will do it anyway.

No hate on you dev but if it's here, it's free, regardless of the version. It's the foundation of F95. It's a trade for visibility. I am no dev but I might try in the future, I accept that my efforts would be used by sites like this one.

Also, if my game makes it to F95, I will know it's because it's good enough.

Of course if it's here, it's free. I can't stop them from publishing here. It's fine. But it doesn't mean that I should give free versions myself when they ask me. Let the one who wants to post it on F95 do it himself.

Somehow, we're left with only two choices here: maintain a level head and avoid imagining or doing anything extraneous, or completely drown in cuckoldry and watch it sadly (and you can still masturbate while doing it). Well, the overall direction of the game is clear, but there's no middle ground where the protagonist doesn't have to completely surrender girls to other men (and "suffer" on the sidelines) and receive tons of contempt from them in return. Surely there's another option, like "sharing," or something similar. Overall, I think this third option is simply missing, at least for balance (yes, there are supposedly four endings, but in reality, there are only two).

How about is NTR avoidable?

There are 4 "main" routes to play and(!) you can finetune the route to the girl in question. e.g. Angi full romance, Min-Ah swinging, Jennifer full romance all in the same playthrough. Or Angi swinging, Jennifer swinging, Min-Ah just a friend. you do that by choosing mostly full romance choices for girl 1 in question, mostly sharing/swinging choices for girl number 2 and so on.
NTR is defintely avoidable.
