In my opinion, the experience becomes way better when there’s a strong buildup with character development and story. The immersion is so much stronger, no doubt. Without it, the game would feel soulless. But to get there, we need to invest in these aspects during the first chapters... I just hope the pace of the story doesn’t catch anyone off guard (it’s mentioned right at the beginning of the game)

That said, we can’t drag it on too long! Haha
By Chapter 03, we’ll have introduced all the main characters, and from there, things will definitely heat up with more intense scenes

I will say though, I hope this game doesn’t take 12 months worth of updates before the GF even finds out about MCs kink. I love a slow build up as much as the next person, but if it takes too long for characters like the GF to start the main theme of the game then it kills as the player.

Your concern is a valid one, although in my case every time I see a nice NTS project pop up, is just a matter of time until it gets dilluted into swinging/polyamory etc, which is a shame. Few western devs actually understand NTS, Saxxonado does, Fallen Eros does, etc.

I'm not a big fan of labels because they make everything too rigid, limiting the artist's creativity. It's like saying, "Real electronic music can't have vocals"... Okay, but what if I want electronic music with vocals? Do I have to create a whole new genre just to label it?
All I know is that I'm trying to be authentic. As a wise man once said, "I'm doing what makes my PP go hard."

I don't disagree, but I think instead of using NTS, this:

could be changed to something like:

Then there's no doubt what it's going to be and people who are stuck on NTS definitions can't complain.

The way i see it (This is entirely personal) most want to see MC they can put themselves in. This is why heroes like Batman or Spiderman make sense, they have superpowers but they aren’t immortal. They got daily issues, relationships problems etc. They are relatable.

The biggest issue of NTS games that you can lean too much into one side easily. While trying to validate MC devs turn him into an Alpha Stag, which is unrealistic. Or they crank up the NTS degree till MC becomes a worthless worm, which makes people ask if MC has no honor. Trying to find a balance can be really hard.

The suggestion i give for this aspect is creating different dynamics, such as:

Female 1: Lover of MC, they figure their stuff with MC together under the love aspect of NTS

Female 2: Has a dominant personality, therefore engages in more hardcore NTS with MC (Humiliation etc)

Female 3: Has a submissive personality, engages in sexual acts with MC

People have many layers to their personalities, and can show different reactions to various situations. Expecting MC to act incredibly submissive or dominant to every single LI they encounter creates an unwanted environment for players.

"They are relatable" < That's the whole point. Am I a billionaire like Batman? No. I also don’t have superpowers, etc. But I know that Batman has real-life issues. The whole drama about his family and his relationships is there for a reason: I can relate to that. And if the story is well written, I immerse myself into it

Honestly, I don’t know if there's a problem with NTS games (everyone has different tastes, so...)
All I know is that there are only a few games that create a rich world with deep characters and balance things out

Things are not black and white, but genre definitions exist for a reason and they are useful. Imagine this: A game that was defined as swinging but one of the partners never gets laid. Of course, in such a situation swinging fans would be angry and with good reason, after all the main point of the fetish is lost. That is how I feel about so many of these western "NTS" games floating around. If a game is presented as NTS at the very least I expect a dynamic where one partner gets permission to sleep with others while the other one remains faithful. The closest (but still not perfect) western equivalent of 寝取らせ (netorase) would be "cuckolding", not stag&vixen or similar lifestyles, as in this scenario MC is passive/submissive (to a greater or lesser extent) in relation to the heroine.
