I also just did a fresh new save for 0.3.5, and still the same issue, there is no Get Closer button. I am stuck in the game and not able to proceed. Looks like the game is bugged or the guide is wrong.
I spent a week inside the downstairs hallway just checking if somehow else I can press get closer but no. Really annoying

I don't know if my build is broken or what.

UPDATE: I had to give her weed beforehand. Then it showed up. It works finally.
