This is simply a theory of mine and I do not have any really hard evidence for it, but could it be that the Dev doing this renpy port is actually the dev of MWAS in disguise? I find it suspicious that despite him telling us that new fanmade stuff will be included, he suddenly went silent when the port reached the end of original content.
Even if the fanmade content would turn sour for various reasons, he could have told us without problems.
Possibly, but I suspect the simpler explanation is that the developer of the Ren'py version just bit off more than they could chew.
There's a huge difference between making a Ren'py port of a Unity game and re-using dialogue and renders from the original, versus writing and rendering entirely new scenes. My guess would be that the developer of this version started working on new scenes, realised how much additional work was involved, and put it on hold.
If/when the Unity game receives a new release, we may get a new release of the Ren'py version. At least I hope we do, as the Unity version was a real chore to play through, and there were a number of scenes that I wasn't able to trigger.
