Yeah that's probably fair, I do a lot of reading which includes manga and it's something that pops up a lot, so I'm likely also pretty jaded when it comes to that specific trope.

I just think it'd be a lot more interesting if the MC was distrusting and there was a bit more of a mindgame going on between them since neither of them asked for this situation and it pretty much sucks for the both of them.

Basically almost everyone here is not a supporter while only a small subset of of f95 members may support the dev on Patreon.

So saying "don't be too greedy" to others is well... 100% meaningless lol.
There will be people who will say "We need a hero" (to leak the game here) or something along those lines hoping their favorite game's update gets leaked early.
While there will be people who hope the game doesn't get leaked so that the dev can enjoy the time of the Patreon exclusivity release before public.

Yet in the end, it all comes down to a leaker, not the people asking for the leak.
Even with an individual posting for an update in the update request thread and many crying out for a hero to leak, a leaker may or may not answer to until the public release.

So this is not something you, me or anyone else (other than a supporter who is also a leaker) can control merely by saying "don't be greedy."

Some devs are very greedy starting with very high tiers (50$+) for prolonoged amount of times and it always feels like karma when their avns get leaked early and i never sub for them

In case of myth of slayer there are not even 2 weeks between the most expensive release (which is just 20$) and the public release, devs like these deserve to be "rewarded" by good karma and not get their avns leaked imo as its a very fair setup.

This game's exclusivity period for each tier is short enough. So personally? I am totally fine with this game's dev enjoying exclusivity until public release date (update not getting leaked). Same goes for other games on this site which are my favorites that I think actually deserve exclusivity period.

But.... we don't always get what we want.
Sure you and I may wish the update doesn't leak anytime soon, but for all we know things with leakers are ......unpredictable to say the least.
Sometimes a game may get leaked on a relatively high tier despite the dev deserving the exclusivity period (seen couple of instances of that). And that is entirely on the supporter leaker who does it. Not due to the people demanding (lol) for the update being greedy.

This is why I'm saying it's meaningless to tell others "don't be too greedy."

My issue with pirate sites is the entitlement members develop from getting something that another person worked on for free (repeatedly, not just once). Even real-life pirates had to work for what they stole. Even leaches have to work to suck the blood out of it's host. In both cases, it's a survival instinct driving both, so what do we call ourselves if we don't fit that criteria? I know, but won't say it.
The greed and blatant callousness here is sickening.
