I agree, it is sad. Although there's a big update coming, poor Teri (Nine of Swords ) can only devote three hours a day at most to actual game development, in addition to her work and personal life, and she works alone.
(Can you believe all the spineless rat-people on other threads have the nerve to hold the developer accountable for the frequency of updates? Fortunately, there are none of those here.)
Besides, she only has 108 supporters on Patreon. True, she publishes her game for free, but she deserves more than that. Then maybe she could buy better technical equipment and maybe work faster. That's why I became a Patreon. Want to join?

Well, it's what happen when a one team indie dev has to work to live.
You know, not everyone is a prepubescent teen living in their parents basement and pampered by their mommy and fed by their daddy. Some of us have to work. And it's take a looooooooooooooot of our time.
Not to mention that shit happen IRL that can also affect the development.
But, if you are so eager to get the next update fast, instead of writing useless post, here is a solution:
Give Nine of Swords US$ 4k-5k a month so she doesn't have to work anymore. And then I'm pretty sure she will be able to devote herself entirely to the game development, and we will get faster update.

Let's avoid ambiguous wording and pointless insults to each other, shall we? (They're arguing about comma errors in another thread. Seriously.) Let's respect the developers enough not to ruin their threads out of anger. Thanks.
Being a peacemaker is a thankless task, we are always the first to be torn apart by the crowd, so... I have just remembered that I have urgent business.
In the meantime, let's all listen to some soothing Christmas songs, in the style of, say, Area 42.

And an apology for the poor wording on my original post. My intention wasn't to be insulting to anyone, let alone a developer who works hard to bring us degenerates a VN. I should've worded things more tactfully. It's just that from what I played, Mythos is really enjoyable and I'm dying for more. But I do understand life happens and responsibilities do come first. I should've been more considerate of that fact. So to you, and to Nine of Swords, I'm sorry.

One reason I'm keeping Mythos as a free game until it's finished is because I don't want people to feel like they're paying for something incomplete. Everyone who wants to support is welcome, but not expected by any means! I know I'm slow at all this, and it has been a rough year for me, but the thing I appreciate the most is people who enjoy the story and world I've created. Seeing people eager for more is what keeps me going! I will not let this game go abandoned, because it's my baby.
On the topic of holiday music, I like to go for "The Season's Upon Us" by Dropkick Murphys. I'd link right to a video but I'm typing this on my phone and that's hard at my age.

Not familiar with that by them, I'll have to check it out. I prefer Floggin' Molly over the Murphys for my vaguely irish sounding rock noises, so that may be why... but I don't know that I know a christmas tune by molly either.

It's just I'm tired to read posts of people just complaining that devs don't deliver update fast enough for their taste.
They forget that the vast majority of indie devs don't make enough to live from their games. They must have daily jobs. So they can only work on their games in their free time. And they deserve the right to also do other things like passing time with their families and friends, doing other hobby, and even just relaxing.
And I know Nine of Swords enough to be sure that she is the first to be sad about her pace on the game.

I'm gonna stop you right there. I was a dick, there's no other way of going about it. And I'm not gonna sit here and let a great dev talk bad about themselves. I will bombard you with positivity if I have to, damn it. But I completely understand. And it wasn't until Hullahopp said what they did that everything was put into perspective. And damnedfrog is right, you do deserve a life and real life problems will always come first. I lost sight of that. Now, whether this game comes out tomorrow or 10 years from now, I'm looking forward to it. I wish I could support as much as some, but especially with the holidays coming up quick, I'm having my own financial difficulties. But, I will say this. If and when I do get the extra funds, you're the first person I'm coming to. Just your response here was enough to convince me of that.
