Ok, playing this game is deeply strange because everything in it is so abrupt.
You're on a boat, you get thrown out and BAM, now you're married with a kid and turned into a cat. Ok, starting in media res is something you can do but it's almost never appreciated because for it to be good you can't skip any of the backstory and build up without at least having an explosive start. Having you woken up by your wife and daughter is not an explosive start: it's a tepid fart of one. It's not a mystery because you then just go "oh he has amnesia for no reason anyway this random catlady will explain the entire premise of the Island then disappear"
Then we have the moment to moment gameplay which is uhhh, again, almost schizophrenic. You click various (unmarked at the start mind you) locations and, what? Hope that events happen? There are characters in some of them, some of the time but does talking progress them? When these events do happen they POP in, again, in media res and then POOF end equally abruptly, having no build up and no wind down.
It's like someone skipped literally everything around the game or cut off everything connecting it. Why can I still hunt fish? What do they do? Why all the empty space? Why start things so weirdly? This aimless wandering about is then only interrupted by either choosing to ONCE A DAY speak to the NPCs (Everyone knows you never talk more than once a day for a brief moment with your loved ones and friends you know) or you can endlessly pat, some of them?
(Tbh honest thinking on it this is because of the game interface, which makes everything separate. Why do this? What did it achieve? I guess you can dress the characters???)
As a vehicle for delivering erotica it is uneven, with scenes being good if short and ending abruptly. As a story it's absolutely atrocious due to its baffling pacing. It feels like every scene is just a middle without beginning or proper end, where it instead of ending it just stops. As a game it's awful, just awful. This is some of the worst gameplay I've seen, with no real in game direction. If you have to have a walkthrough in your in-built music player you didn't make the gameplay flow well enough dude. Like, obviously games like this are guilty of those sins but this one is like, deeper in gamer hell than most.
Finally there's the renders which, well, there's probably been all the required discussion on that. Either you like the art direction or you don't. You clearly put in the work as they're well made and I think they're great personally. But this game has some of the worst pacing issues I've ever seen and it's truly baffling how this has gone on for so (apparently) long with no-one bringing this up because holy smokes, I kept thinking I was suffering some boner related semi-stroke while playing it.
