Yeah that was the only thing I did not like as well but at least we got to see the others in action. I just assumed he made the decision so Eliza doesn't steal the spotlight since she can tear them to shreds and we actually get to see the other members of our party get some action. Personally I thought Eliza was gonna sneak through a back entrance somehow and rescue her and clear the room while the other guys cleared the frontThe dev made Eliza disappear from the story just so she wouldn't participate in rescuing the princess.
I don't think that will play out the same way as the first timePlottwist: Eliza got kidnapped by taron
dev said the next update the other girls are still welcoming us back so kind of like a part 1 update lol. But yeah I thought it was gonna be Eliza to greet us not AliceLmao really strange how Eliza wasnt with dalen and bori, she could have soloed anyone there, not welcoming back mc either ..
Plottwist: Eliza got kidnapped by taron
I agree about Eliza. After all that vampire sturm und drang, it was rather pathetic to see her sit out an absolutely crucial mission to free herYeah I was hoping at the very least we would see Eliza help in the rescue by killing some guards but at least we got to see Bori kick some ass. But the change to Amelia in the last update by having the option of not letting her go off by her self makes it flow better and not feel so forced now , when she gets kidnaped.
I agree, i think it time to take him out and move on to the next protagonist, there seem to be enough people involved in the balthazar cult. It starts to feel too random with him, and its kinda pointed out even more with him always suddenly vanishingI agree about Eliza. The retroactive change to Amelia's capture was a big improvement that makes this plotline a lot less jarring. But it doesn't change my feeling that Taron is played out; he's not an interesting adversary when he can effortlessly accomplish anything the plot needs him to do - and nothing it needs him not to do. He does the "smug and cunning manipulator" thing very well, but he needs more than one note in his arsenal.
I asked buu this cause I was like how the fuck did he escape this was his replay on this discordI agree, i think it time to take him out and move on to the next protagonist, there seem to be enough people involved in the balthazar cult. Im not even sure how, does he have an invisible ability? Just give the mc and invisilbe-sight ability and let us finish this fucker once and for all.
There seems to be some mistake. Rogues disappear into the shadows; ninjas vanish in a cloud of smoke.I asked buu this cause I was like how the fuck did he escape this was his replay on this discord
"Taron is a rogue archetype, he also displays this when he breaks Elizas spine, he vanishes into a cloud of smoke. while Dalen would be classified as a knight and Oren as a fighter archetypes (edited)"
Hmm dunno thats not entirely true. I mean he is fucking up nonstp, he lost the arch sorceress, he lost the symbiote, his cult is getting impatient with his results. There seems to be some mistake. Rogues disappear into the shadows; ninjas vanish in a cloud of smoke.
Quips aside, I get it. Taron realized the jig was up and used the opportunity to skedaddle when everyone turned to look at Amelia. In an of itself it's a reasonable thing for him to do. The problem is that EVERYTHING he does is just that effortless. He never has to struggle or take a calculated risk, never wonders how the heroes will react, never suffers from a seeming setback, never needs to wait for resources or opportunities, never forgets if he left the iron on at home, you name it - the guy's 100% in control at all times. It's fine to act that way in small doses; it can make him feel dangerously savvy, even. But it gets boring when that's literally ALL he ever does. You stop respecting him as a villain once you realize the author is doing all the heavy lifting.
Trust me, next time we see Taron he'll be assuring an audience surrogate that he never thought the MC would stay in jail and he was only humoring Alaric as part of the super secret, ultra smug plan to use the MC for nefarious ends. 13th verse, same as the first.
Yeah it's kinda weird, I'm on the fence if he's trying to get the MC stronger in order to defeat the BBEG or to make him a vessel for the BBEG. I imagine the twist will be he wants to defeat him but I'm not sure yet.But i really dont know what his goal even is, if he intends to make the mc stronger and get him allies hes kinda maybe succeding?
he still has people including the rose lady that wanted alone time in the study for whatever nefarious reason and im sure he will milk the rich guy for a while until amelia outs them as collaborators in her abduction but yeah he seems to be fucking up. at first i thought that the first nephilim was manipulating him from his prison and while taron was trying to make MC stronger under the surface without the first nephilim noticing but now im not so sureHmm dunno thats not entirely true. I mean he is fucking up nonstp, he lost the arch sorceress, he lost the symbiote, his cult is getting impatient with his results.
And now he agreed to a deal (out of need for money?) which fucked him over and exposed him, doubt hes able to operate as before from now on. Thats a lot of consequences for his actions already to be fair, how is he even supposed to lead his guild from now on?
I thought taron and the rich guy had the coup already staged and are ready to take over but as it looks now, it seems they are just some idiots who underestimated their enemys (luna's location tracking) and lets be real, mc's power ... even if they would have achieved their goal with their little sheme, mc would just have destroyed the palace lol
its just more convienent for the good guys to not have to do that
But i really dont know what his goal even is, if he intends to make the mc stronger and get him allies hes kinda maybe succeding?
I mean, I can only speculate, but I don't think Taron's "defeats" are anything of the sort. Remember, he deliberately crippled Eliza just to piss the MC off, then left him alone; as he later says, he only needed to motivate the MC. Taron likewise made no effort to protect Luna's mom after holding her hostage, and doesn't seem bothered in the slightest that she's escaped or that the sword he wants unsealed is gone. When Alaric is gloating about how the MC will be burned at the stake once he rules the kingdom, Taron only responds "We'll see."Hmm dunno thats not entirely true. Well at least the premise was rightMy prediction for the next update:

Aaaaand. I'm the only one irritated that MC doesnt recocnize his own cousin??
I mean yeah i thought and kinda still think so too. But now being exposed didnt do anything (positive) for Taron and didnt empowered the MC either. We didnt even absorbed a power from the werewolfI mean, I can only speculate, but I don't think Taron's "defeats" are anything of the sort. To me the implication is obvious: Taron isn't actually trying to hurt the MC, he's trying to empower the MC and probably keep him distracted to boot. Presumably the end goal is to use the MC as a sacrifice or vessel for Balthazar's return (or to pull a double-cross on Balthazar and try to steal the MC's power for himself at the last second, if Taron is partial to classical villainy). Thus all his supposed defeats are merely steps in his greater plan, bwhahahahaa!
That's why I find him so one-note. The guy just laughs smugly at everything, rain or shine.
We really need Amelia to wake up and let them know Douche and Douche dad were the ones who put Taron up to it. At the moment, they are completely in the clear. I hope Amelia doesn't wake up with amnesia so she can point the finger. Kidnapping her was bad enough, but to order her beaten senseless, puts them on my 'they must die' list.Honesty I was a bit taken back that Taron kidnaped the princess because of another Lord wanted him too didn't think he needed the money that badly. I thought he was doing for some other purpose than money like to get the MC temporary out of the picture or something to do with the MC anyhow.
Yeah I think I can afford some dark side points…We really need Amelia to wake up and let them know Douche and Douche dad were the ones who put Taron up to it.
