I've been thinking of learning Ren'py and making mods. I'd like one for this game that just automatically rejects everyone but Eliza - as in they don't even ask. Of course, that would make large parts of this into a kinetic novel. Thinking of doing something similar for a few other games where solo routes are possible but the dev makes it very difficult.

From my understanding once you make the Major decision that locks you in for good. So not really a need for such a mod tbh other than maybe if you replay the game and only want to Eliza on those runs.

In this game, if I do additional runs it won't be about Lis. At one point I did a Pokemon run and it didn't change my mind about anyone. Eliza, solo is all I'm interested in. Some of them I don't even want to be friends with.
Seriously, I don't know why all the praise for Eliza. If I could, I would rather choose the path of friendship with Eliza. The only thing I don't know is, if you choose the path of friendship with Eliza or the other girls, could they betray you? You could say that what interests me the most about Eliza, is knowing the other powers she acquires after becoming a vampire; so far, only her supernatural strength and enhanced reflexes have been seen. It's not that I hate Eliza, but in this kind of games, I've never liked that girl who "stands out" (let's say that's how it could be said) among other girls; for example, in this case: Eliza. When it comes to these kinds of games I prefer to value all the girls equally, and not talk or praise one more than another. But this is just my humble opinion.

I get what you're saying but after experiencing the harem route and comparing it to an Eliza only route, it just feels off. It almost feels like different writers even though it's probably not. On an Eliza only route, you get a very committed relationship with two people that are so focused on each other and their goals that nothing else in the world matters. On the harem route, you get that but then it's juxtaposed with the MC stopping to get his dick wet every 100 renders or so and putting about 1/5 of the Eliza effort in (except for Kira but that cave stuff took way too long). For total content, the harem route is obviously the way to go, you hook up with nearly everyone in the story. In my opinion, full harem cheapens the Eliza relationship because all of his dialogue sounds like playboy overkill when he's spent the day hooking up with literally everyone else.
So I basically keep two runs going. Eliza only and full harem. I don't really care about the dark path and I might work on it once the story is closer to finished.

Honestly I just love the relationship with Eliza even if it's very lovely dovey and that can be a bit much for some people. The way it's executed for me is perfect. It very fun and playful which are 2 of my favorite things to see in a relationship. Then of course it's wholesome and romantic too when everything is combines just makes for a really fun couple. In fact this MC and Eliza is my #1 AVN couple out of any game ive played.
Honestly the only other girls that can come close to Eliza for me is Amelia and Luna but they still fall short in comparison. If Amelia gets alot of content I can see her potentially over taking Eliza as my favorite. As when the MC took her out she reminded me alot of Eliza in the early chapters which was my favorite version of Eliza.

1) She is supposed to be the main Li, you meet her first and have more of a story with her than the others. You are as close as two people can be without it actually being incestuous. Her father for the first 10 years of her life was your surrogate father for the second decade of yours and his dying wish was that you find her and take care of her (another reason to never, ever leave Eliza behind - plus you promised her you wouldn't in like ... chapter 2? 3? something like that.)
2) She is the closest thing MC has to an equal. If he goes into a dangerous situation with any of the others, he has to constantly worry about them. With Eliza he doesn't ... at least not as much. She can hold her own in most situations.
3) All the lovey dovey stuff. Their relationship is great. Warm and intimate but also funny and playful. (really already covered in depth by the two posters before me).
4) It's me. In most games, I tend to focus on one Li who I really like. Harems aren't really my thing. Occasionally there are two I like, and occasionally there are zero that I like (don't tend to last long in those). I think that, in this game, if it weren't for Eliza it would be a zero.

All the stuff the others said. Eliza is really the only Li that makes sense in this. I guess, under other circumstances, Alice might but I really am not the fond of Alice as an adult - and she shouldn't put so much faith in the promises of 10 year olds. If Eliza wasn't around ... I dunno, I'd probably be with the barmaid.

Same for me. I like Alice, I'm thinking about an Alice save, but its hard to get past Eliza. She is so far ahead of the other girls. The dev hit a home run with Eliza. The others not so much.

Eliza and MC also seem to have the same attitude toward one another - for example, if someone tried to hurt MC - and I caught them, it's hard to say what I'd do. If someone so much as suggests the possibility of hurting Eliza, they will die painfully. Hell, I wanted to hurt whatisname for staring at her ass - not intimidate, like do some damage to him.
If someone wanted to hurt Eliza and she caught them, hard to say what she'd do - depends on who it was and the situation probably BUT if someone even suggested hurting MC and she caught them, it would have to be a fast funeral because she would not stop kicking them until the casket was in the ground and there was too much dirt for her to reach them ... and even then they might have to stop her digging them back up so she could hit them some more.

I think the Dev knew that. I think it was almost intentional, almost. The story had the hero and his girl and it really didn't need anything else except the story. Unfortunately, the AVN space is what it is. There would have been so many complaints if there was only one Li in the game and the MC couldn't fuck everything with a hole in it, so some others got stuck in. They're not nearly as good though because they aren't really there for people who care about the story or the characters, so not as much effort was put in. Even Alice who is sort of part of the story, is pretty awful. She tries to seduce MC while he is in bed with his wounded GF. Picking Alice up and dropping her out the window would not have been unreasonable.

I have to replay the scene again but I only played the Alice path once first time was only Eliza. I recall only hearing how bad Alice was in that scene. However when I played it I remember ,the Alice bed scene didn't come across that bad for me compared to what I read about it. But yeah either way she tries to seduce the MC knowing he is with Eliza which isn't a good thing either. Even tho it's kind of common in their culture to have more than 1 lover, still doesn't make it any better.

He might have done too well because at this point my priorities in the game are
1) Being with Eliza basically all the time
2) Keeping Eliza safe and happy
3) Building a house with Eliza
4) Doing the occasional adventure work to keep the coffers full (but only with Eliza with me, and we charge a LOT).
5) The whole revenge / who killed my parents / what kind of creature am I ... thing
6) Nope ... that's the whole list everything else is just chores.
I seriously doubt the dev added all the other LIs just to appease people. Games with just 1 LI are rare, but there's plenty with only 2-4 main options that have done well. If the dev added more just to broaden the audience, they could have stopped at far fewer than they have. So I strongly believe the dev wants there to be lots.
That said, Eliza is clearly the intended primary partner. The others I'd generally consider secondary or tertiary partners.

It wouldn't surprise me. I mean I don't know him but devs to all kinds of things to appease people and broaden the audience. As it is, it is a game with one main Li and a ton of side girls and there are quite a few people who don't like that. You don't have to be romantic with the main Li but she'll still be your friend and no one else you're with will have nearly as much content. There are people who complain about that as well. I'm just hoping that we get to take Eliza with us on this big mission that is coming up. I think that part of the reason we keep leaving her behind is so that people have more opportunities to mess around with side girls. Makes it less interesting though for those of us with no interest in the side girls.

While I can't speak for this dev in particular, I know a common practice is to have the main points of a story planned out, with certain characters that are essential, and then you toss in side girls and slice of life stuff to flesh it out. Based on audience reaction, you adapt, giving more time to the girls that seem to be a hit and cutting down on those that don't.
Sabrina comes to mind, the cousin. Seemed to play a minor bit and then a few people spoke up wanting some content with her and now she reappears in the story having to follow a different path in life (the baker) because her original one (the tailor) didn't pan out.
I do think there are way too many women but that's subjective. I don't know why people like Kelly's mom needed to show up again. I really don't know why the latest update just felt like a bunch of repeats of earlier scenes. That's the biggest critique I have with the VN right now, that last update really confused me. Everything else I can shrug off.
