If it was real, Flynn and Alice would have been married long ago and at least a couple of kids by now. Single people in the village wouldn't have stayed single this long.

Yeah, those two would make a great couple. I don't really need the house - I'd rather take Eliza and just go back to where MC was before all of this. I'm sure the kingdom will be fine, or not ... either way. Either that or I want to give in to the forces of darkness really soon.

People did generally get married earlier, but at the same time it wasn't that uncommon for people to get married for the first time later like in their 20s. Main reason why people got married early was because of convivence but nether Flynn or Alice really wanted to stay in the village anyway so there isn't much reason to get married. It would actually make moving and studying in the capital more difficult. The idea of everyone getting married at like 16 isn't really that accurate. Men at least were typically a older when they got married than women, because they would spend the first few years of their adulthood trying to establish themselves. Women were only married earlier because they weren't expected to do much besides support their husbands

Not exactly. Marriages being arranged was more a thing for the nobility. Commoners generally had more power to reject a marriage candidate if they weren't interested. For commoners it's more like the guy trying to appeal to the girl and her family that he could be a suitable husband. In any case unless Flynn expressed any interest in Alice it's unlikely that they would have gotten married, especially if Flynn intended to leave the village and become a sailor. There isn't really a hurry for Alice to get married either. Neither of them needed the extra financial support or extra farm hands which were some of the main reasons people got married back then. Alice and Flynn being 20 and still unmarried wouldn't be that unusual at all. Espically not Flynn. If any of them did get married it would probably be Alice to some random guy while Flynn would have just left town and never came back.
