I literally closed the last comment with that exact thingI can accept that argument. it is a pretty decent one. "she always wanted power and now finally gets it" is a legitimate character arc.
Certainly far better than the notion that all waifu who aren't the MC's equal in combat is a "weak subservient dolls, constantly needing the big bad MC to save their ass." (exact words).
And I actually agree with you, variety is good. Now check the vast majority of games tagged with harem on this site and you will see most female characters follow the subservient cheerleader pattern. It's just as boring as Hollywood's version of stronk wuman that's so common in modern movies. I only care about the character making sense in the story. And Eliza's change does.
The very fact there so much discussion about characterization for this game means dev is doing something right.
