I have a slightly different read on that scene. To me it showed more that Luna isn't experienced. She's powerful but doesn't have strategic insight on how to use magic offensively. It's been all academic for her.True, but the dev showed it the most in the scene where Eliza trains Sylph, Alice and of course Luna. Luna as the daughter of the former leader of the magical guilt and one of the potentially strongest witches in Luxenford was not even able to hold Eliza back long enough to defeat her in training and even lose, which is a bit strange in the story itself. Instead, she needed the help of Sylph and Alice, who is neither a witch nor has special abilities and Sylph only controls one, namely natural power compared to Luna's ability to control both arcane and fire magic at the same time, and despite this fact Eliza was able to break free from her spells only with the help of her vampire abilities. Personally, I think that the daughter of such a powerful witch as her mother should have at least similar strength to Diana, or to the mc itself. Unfortunately, in this case, it was clearly not the case, which is strange.
Though, for that matter, I don't think Eliza has earned the combat experience she's showing while training the others. It's not as if she's been out adventuring with the MC for years.
That said, I can't disagree with your point either... That Eliza can break free so easily means Luna has very little use in the future unless she gets a power-up. She, and a few others, will become the Krillin (DBZ) of this game.
