They are celebrating their right to exist in public. They are celebrating their pride in their identity. But when I see a Pride parade, I can't stand it. To me, personally, nothing is good about celebrating publically on the streets to which hole you put dick, and I don't really get what exactly they are proud about.
Right, and pride, that were denied them until not that long ago.
Alan Turing (the English mathematician who solved Enigma and delivered a sizable blow to the Nazi war machine) was charged with gross indecency for meeting his lover in his own home, and sentenced to be chemically castrated in the early 50s. He killed himself less than 2 years later. That's about 70 years ago.
The Stonewall riot, where the Pride originates, was a riot against political violence towards the LGBT community, in 1969.
Ronald Reagan and conservatives at large let HIV/AIDS go without caring much because they believed it was a gay plague. LGBTQ+ people disproportionally died of it.
Decriminalization of homosexuality in western countries happened in the 90s, less than 30 years ago.
The "don't ask don't tell" policy in US Military was ended in 2011, not even 15 years ago. If you don't know what that is it was a policy where you could be gay in the military as long as you didn't tell anyone, because technically you could still be dishonorably discharged for it.
In 64 countries worldwide (roughly 30%) being gay is still illegal. There is a resurgence of oppression towards trans folks right now in the US and UK.
This is what you don't get, the Pride is an expression of pride in being something that the world told them was wrong up to not that long ago, and in some places still does, and a celebration of all the men and women who died under that persecution.
So, your comparison is a) wild because "cheering for LeStag" as you put is nothing like the Pride and b) shows just how ignorant you are, unable to even understand something that doesn't affect you personally.
Then, consider just for one moment that maybe people are arguing against you not because they mindlessly defend LeStag, but just because they think you're wrong. Has it ever occurred to you?
