Btw, Patreon doesn't show accurate numbers, so, sorry, can't use that.
This is what I see right now and I really doubt that LeStag lost 1.2k dollars of income in 27 minutes.

Also, for this guy right here it showed 90k. So yeah, that data is crap.
I think the data is consistent if you look at it in the same conditions (same currency, region, etc...).

He's not wrong in the sense that, today, a bunch of subscriptions did lapse. Which means I technically "lost" money today.

What he doesn't take into account is that displayed changes are not instantaneous. If people hypothetically cancelled their subscription yesterday, because they hated what I said here, then the value of their subscriptions would only be deducted when their access lapsed, which could be 3 weeks from now. The fact that the displayed value changed today just means that a bunch of previously cancelled subscriptions ended today. But, for reference, one of those was cancelled on October 23.

The facts, though, is that since last release, only 6 people cancelled their subscriptions. Six. And I gained, as I said, 132 in the same timeframe (deducting those 6, so I actually had 138 new subscribers).

So, yeah, he's talking nonsense. I'm definitely not losing money with this update. As I said, it's not only the most successful one yet, both feedback-wise and money-wise, but November is also, for now, the month during which my income has comparatively progressed the most. So, far from "bleeding money".

It's funny how you didn't engage in a debate when I was being apologetic, polite and took time to give you honest, albeit pretty critical feedback, but you've blown a gasket when I said some hard truths.
Just because you suddenly decided to be apologetic doesn't mean that:
- Your feedback became better,
- I had to accept your apology.

Talking nonsense while saying "I'm sorry" doesn't change the fact that it's nonsense, and I had already decided to ignore your "feedback", because it was clearly based on nonsense.

I draw the line at blatant lines though. I have to address those.

So fine, I'll give you the stage and retire from this, people that start throwing slurs when they can't debate bore me.
If I had known, I'd have done that earlier.

Soo, instead of letting the players play the game and decide for themselves, you create a fixed setting based on some of the players. So very blank slate of you.
I personally don’t like the idea that a game’s script and plot are decided through democratic interactions by the audience.

Democracy is fine and all. Okay. But if there’s one environment I believe shouldn’t be democratic, it’s scriptwriting, because the moment you give up creative freedom to cater to the desires of the masses, your product stops being your product and becomes the result of mediocrity translated into votes.

There are plenty of AI tools today that can give you a personalized experience, a handcrafted game made by a former French accountant doesn’t need to be one of them.

In fact, the charm of the result lies precisely in the fact that it doesn’t come directly from an algorithm, but from the arbitrary decisions of someone who is constantly pressured and influenced by online bullying.

As much as I criticize Stag’s work, his French pace of doing things, or the way he favors that bland little thing over my sweet, brown-skinned fitness angel, I have to say that the scenario in which he would try to meet others’ expectations instead of focusing on developing his own decisions would completely strip the game of its charm.

I’m not interested in a script built around the desires and expectations of a bunch of neurodivergents on an adult forum. I have Twitter for that.

Keep doing what you do, Stag.

And next time people say I can't take criticism, I'll show them these last two pages.
Then why are you calling me an ass here for no reason?

Writing him like an ass was your vision, was it not?
You're not among those ones, clearly...
I am not the one who said Nathan needed to be rewritten. You don't seem to juggle with input (of others) like other devs do, who are way more relaxed about the whole give and take, which is a pity, really. But it's not that I don't even get it: this is your first baby and you can't have anyone reign on your parade.

I won't engage with the dev anymore or with the thread on my own, but since you've quoted me I'll give a reply.
I feel that you are contradicting yourself a bit, or maybe I didn't understand you. You don't like polls deciding the direction and "Keep doing what you do ", when he literally decided the direction of the script after a poll vote... seem to not match. Don't mind me too much, just wanted to poke back a bit.

I do like his style of writing myself btw, and a lot of his critics probably feel the same. We just don't enjoy the bait and switch tactics or catering to a group, even if that group is the majority.

What do you mean, "no reason"? You answered mockingly to me taking feedback into account, then followed by saying that me "writing Oliver like an ass" was my vision when I've said multiple times it wasn't, and tried (and failed) to course correct more than once.

In short: I'm calling you an ass because I think you are one.

Man, does he really need to spell "I think he shouldn't have done that" for you to understand?

Imagine telling on yourself like that...

Character-specific spin-offs are on my mind. But I'd rather develop their story properly in the main game, and see later if I can do more, than deliberately keep content away to justify another game. ;)

The game is already too big

The bigger the game gets, the less impact your planned final plot will have

You should focus more on consistency

I must have overlooked where you admitted Oliver is still not what you envisioned, even after the rewrite. And yes, I phrased it "mockingly" because you were the one who mocked others before for not understanding your vision and having ideas that won't work. And you're kinda right, to be honest, because I am more confused than ever. Not sure why Oliver being an ass is a bad thing. He certainly isn't MC's friend.
