I'm going to ask because it conflicts with my understanding. if it's at the end, seems to me that since the son has no clue until discovered - wouldn't that make it more a "cheating" / "infidelity" story line than a true netorare storyline? I mean, true netorare would have the son aware much earlier and having to suffer through it all, wouldn't he?

Go to nhentai, sort by netorare, then popularity, read for a while and weep at the ntr you find in games.

It is my understanding that main difference between simple "cheating" / "infidelity" and netorare is the fact that the person who is cheated upon is aware of it and goes through the suffering. Is there is no pain, there is no netorare - so that goes back to my 2 questions:
If it's at the end, seems to me that since the son has no clue until discovered - wouldn't that make it more a "cheating" / "infidelity" story line than a true netorare storyline?

I think the modest version of fun NTR is where I'm at, which isn't true NTR.

But all these "omg NTR!" threads and nobody having the same view of it for the most part just tells me how much the genre basically sucks. Actually making an NTR that is NTR or not some sub-genre of NTR that upsets the NTR fans is very tough to do.

They always seem to turn into happy NTR with cheating/voyeurism or a swinger party, or a "oh no my wife lefted me but I still love her and respect what she is doing because my small penis."

It meets the bare minimum to be considered netorare. Remember I gave him a more brutal example and he refused to even look at it. So I gave him one of the more tame ones I knew.

It does not explore the suffering of the son throughout the events. Instead it's simply a "cheating" / "infidelity" story where it is revealed in the climax / resolution stage.

I'm willing to concede that, but according to vndb, nhentai, and hanime, it's netorare. *shrug* It has about 30 seconds of true netorare by the definitions that you (and I have in the past) listed.

We can definitely agree to disagree here. It meets the bare minimum, "enough" is not a criteria. That said, I will agree that it is the softest, tamest possible example I could have chosen...which is why I chose it in the first place.

Not hating on anything. I Just like tame NTR and I'm not into anything dark where we have to enjoy the misery of the befallen mate of whoever ran off with the new love interest.

But separately from that, totally unrelated to NTR, I don't much like harem games. I don't think collecting women like pokemon is my cup of tea.

there's only one real/true ntr, and that’s netorare. other sub-genres like netori, netorase, or bss aren’t real/true ntr. those who don’t know what ntr is always confuse it with netorase & netori

They literally do not know what NTR is.

Their idea of NTR is essentially a psychological thriller caused by cheating. Something so specific they couldn't find one example.
