Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years.
I completed another 50 renders this week, finishing scene 7 and making a start on scene 8. I also have a bit of an announcement for you.
I've decided to pause billing for the next month or two, starting today, to give myself a semi-break from VN development. Don't worry, I'll still be working on New Antioch during this period although at a reduced capacity. I have to de-burnout and dedicate more time to some other things (incl moving into a new home) which will lower my output, and I wouldn't feel right charging you guys for that.
I'll let you guys know when I'm fully back, and will of course still be reachable via Discord / Patreon / SubscribeStar. In the mean time look after yourselves.

I gotta ask what the hell happened with renders in 0.5... It is such a downgrade compared to 0.3 and 0.4. Safiya scene is too dark, grainy and animations were blurry. Luci scene is like a flashbang, I cannot even look at it.

Are you saying that level of brightness is normal, or are you just mindlessly defending against any amount of criticism?
If you think that is normal, then explain why other scenes aren't bright like that. Explain why hundreds of other games don't have bright scenes like that.
If you are just a fanboy who cannot take even the tiniest of criticism, then we don't have anything to discuss.
It's just lazy work that doesn't live up to the standards of previous releases.

To be honest, he has a point. I have just startet the game, so I can't seriously compare to older versions or can judge them without being a hypocrite. But that shown snap IS bright, It's clearly overtuned - even if someone starts talking about artistic reasons.

It didn't kill my interest in continuing, but regardless of what it made me say I didn't forgive Aquilla. I don't hate her, but don't trust her either. Out of the Lis so far Safiya is the only one I'm still interested in.

Personally Aquila is my favorite LI, I don't care that she showed up with the intent to murder. She chose not to, and even went to the trouble of trying to clear the air. I'm good with that, MC has likely been in that situation a number of times.

Aquilla isn't exactly my favorite, but what is there really to forgive ?
She came to murder the MC, but chose to go against her orders and not to do so.
She stole some tech, which belonged to the Princeps and he keept against the law (i really couldn't care less, he was an ass), can't say i care much about that village or Dante either.
The MC finds out she had absolutely nothing to do with the murder of the Princeps.
So all that is left is she put the MC to sleep, in his own home, really not hard to forgive imo.

Seriously, though, at first, I wanted to hate her so bad... Then, she was just so damn contrite... I couldn't bring myself to do it. So, in the spirit of taking the high road... I fucked her good and hard!

Althought i'd say she is more ''trustworthy'' than most of the others, well maybe aside from Gaius, not that this means all that much...seeing one of the LI's gave the kill order just to be sure, the other creats an rather horrible undying army, the next was doing human experiments, your 'father' and his friend murderd your first parents and made you into a weapon, your brother murdered his father and managed to blame it on you...she's rather nice and normal in comparison

See I agree with this about her sister, but Aquilla actively chose to disobey orders when she took a liking to MC. She was brainwashed but obviously not completely. In my view she's the only one of the whole lot of New Antiochians that shows any morality or trustworthiness at all. I want to open her eyes to how badly she's been used by the rest and have her by my side as I kill every last one of the psychos in that government (including, perhaps especially, her "sister" and "mother.")
