Yeah, if you get at least 10 of the 11 clues, Luci pretty much pieces together what actually happened. Or at least an extremely plausible series of events (though not quite a "smoking gun" level of undeniable evidence).
I might have to go back and re-do my actions. So far it doesn´t seem to have any impact on the story, but maybe in the future it will.

The decision will have a big impact later on, especially in the political spectrum. There's no right or wrong choice per se, it all surmounts to what you think is the best course of action. Sure, there's one person who committed said crime, but maybe you might consider that executing them would be detrimental for you and your people in the long run. But, for the investigation itself, it is cool being able to unlock every clue and have a most extensive discussion when you gather with your companions. That way, it can be clear not only who's guilty, but also who you think should die.

In my case I couldn't waste a potential ally, although I don't know how helpful she'll actually be. I definitely can't support either of the existing factions (that I know about so far). So I'm going to have a lot of improvising to do.

How many clues are there to find? I just want to make sure I found them all. The thing is: every person had a reason to kill Dakar; politically, it makes sense to spare Layla and Belegarde as they seem to be the ones who can be more useful in that branch, since Zhera doesn´t seem interested in running for election. But I also don´t want to kill Zehra, because between the three of them she´s more the victim than the one causing trouble.
I might have to make a save for every possibility and keep playing with the one I´m more inclined towards.
That said, I think I´m going to kill

I believe there are 11 total clues.

As for my decision of who to accuse and why, I summarized them here.
Yeah, I ended up accepting Layla's deal and condemning Belegarde for essentially these same reasons.

I also found it rather interesting that the Luminary specifically intervenes to prevent Belegarde from entering the library. Aside from amping up the whole netori factor, I kind of wonder if she has a more direct story motive as well.

No spoilers intended, but if I didn't mistake it, she is more than what meets the eye. A woman with many faces... :illuminati:

I did find all the clues.
As for the Luminary, it seems to me like she has more sympathy for the Luminary cause and that´s why she probably prefers having Layla as Archseer than Belegarde.

Hail citizens,
Hope you're all doing well. Another short dev log for you this week. I completed scene 3 of 14, which was a bit bigger than 1 and 2, and made a start on scene 4. Not much else to report, all's going pretty smoothly so far.
See you guys next week. :)
Cheers,

honestly the only complain i have from this game is the animation, the renders are great, so good that it'd have been better to put them on a slide show than those animation. As for the story its good and engaging, the character lore's are good and the world building is interesting. Will be looking forward to the next update.

Dev Log dated July 20, 2025

Hail citizens,
Hope you're all doing well.
Another week another dev log. I completed scene 4, which is the last of the 'short' ones for now. I'll be moving on to some bigger scenes, but they shouldn't take that much longer to do. I'm also spending some time planning a short sandbox/puzzle section with a horror aspect, but we'll see how well it fits in. :)
Cheers,

Unfortunately, I pretty much agree with that point, for me, it’s the one, maybe even the biggest, weak spot in the game, which is really a shame. I’d say it’d be better to swap those animations for sliders or at least put more effort into improving that part, maybe even hire someone specifically for it if possible. Because honestly, that aspect really sticks out compared to the rest of the game, especially since everything else keeps getting better and better.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Cluedo-style investigation phase in this update. It was a rewarding and engaging experience, especially with its political angle and these potential consequences depending on who the player chooses to blame for the Archseer’s murder. This section brings together all the right ingredients; a mystery to solve, clue gathering, suspect interrogations, pointing out their inconsistencies, and a satisfying resolution.

During that sequence, I decided to accuse Belegarde instead of Layla, even though I’m pretty sure Layla’s the real culprit behind Da’kar’s murder. Belegarde, to me, poses a bigger political threat and is a wild card if given control over the Solar Seers. His plans to meddle in states' affairs, act as arbiters in political disputes, build an independent state, and send Seers to offer their services around the region are way too dangerous to ignore, even if he didn’t commit this murder. Plus, his awful personality speaks volumes.

Layla, while ambitious and manipulative, seems at least a bit more dependable or at least more predictable. I figure it’s safer to have a solid ally, even a power-hungry one, than a reckless idealist who constantly doubts himself and tries too hard to prove his worth.

We also learn he’s a radical, not even supported by his own faction, these Humanists. Driven by doubt and shaky power, he could’ve done terrible things to secure his grip on that religious order and likely the wider world. So I chose to back Layla and spare her, felt like the safer bet here.

I also liked the little touches and hints scattered throughout, about that story’s future, these two last women we met, and one possible path MC could take down the road. Speaking of which, about "subject Y", since we already have that, meaning MC, I think our adventurers might have unknowingly crossed paths with this “subject X” they’re after; precisely this woman (Dahlia) guiding them through the tech vault. I’ve got a strong feeling it’s her. ^^

I was really glad we finally got to reunite with Dante. It gave us a chance to confront him about what he did and settle things once and for all. I’m pretty sure the dev understood that some players had been waiting for this moment all along.

Finally, we had to pick a side; this rising rebellion, probably led by Cicero and these Ferrymen, or the Empire, represented by Faustina and her family. I went with the Empire, mainly because I don’t trust Cicero’s true intentions. Even with Faustina’s plans for a Terminator-like army, this Empire feels like the lesser evil, maybe humanity’s only shot at a future, as Gaius says.

Sure, it’s a corrupt, decadent regime that badly needs a wise leader to push necessary reforms, fix what’s broken, and guide this country toward a better future, one that truly serves its people instead of a small, greedy, privileged elite.

While Faustina’s extreme methods are questionable, I suppose she acts that way to prevent another collapse, since humanity in this world is seriously threatened by this R virus. Still, she’s wrong to think the ends justify the means, what she’s setting up risks turning into a dystopia and totalitarian rule.

On the other hand, I’m not convinced Cicero’s goals are noble either. I doubt he simply wants to overthrow Faustina and create a sort of republic. It feels more like a personal vendetta against the Empire and Faustina herself, whom he considers beyond saving and merely wants to destroy for the sake of it and pure chaos. But by doing so, he might be dooming humanity’s last chances.

That said, whatever side MC picks, there’s probably a third path eventually, taking control, claiming the throne, and deciding humanity’s and the Empire’s future on his own terms.

This game has a path and a way it goes about scenes. It also has all the antiheroes to full in the void Daniel Craig left when getting himself blown to bits a number of times as the totally unaccountable disaster starter duke of hazard double ”O” 7.

Yeah, pretty sure it was Layla, but honestly fucking her, knocking her up and only to then burn her is fun, she seemed rather shoked too
(also i find it by far the most statisfying to burn the manipulativ, power hungry slut)

Thought i do agree, Belegarde is a huge risk, none wants overpowerd mages running arround and doing what ever they want, even more so as we can see, they aren't any better as normal humans when it comes to morals, greed, power, lust, bad decisions etc.
And yeah, i think Layla could actually be a usefull ally and she seems to have no problems using her power or that of the seers to help the MC if you help her.

I got real ice in my veins and maybe no heart or soul but I set the bitch on fire lol
My reasoning is pretty fucked and clear, If a person is crazy, bad or evil I believe the child will come out the same. so its best to terminate the whole bloodline..... I know cruel but I have always had that mindset

if the mom is broken that means her mom and dad are broken so is their grandparents and child will grow the same.
lol same if its dad.

End the cycle lol

I'm not quite sure what you mean by “former official partner of the deceased” or “the only person with fire left of the three,” as some parts of your post come across as unclear and confusing.

Regarding everything else, it’s true MC was initially sent on an infiltration mission for reasons quickly revealed as questionable, more of a distraction improvised by Dante than a well-thought-out plan. However, I don’t think MC has made any clear or final decision yet. Several uncertainties remain, and ultimately, the player’s choices will determine this path.

Until now, MC seemed torn between staying loyal to Dante despite everything or genuinely supporting the Empire alongside Gaius and the imperial family. There could also be a third option, one where MC manipulates both sides, playing them against each other to climb and seize power for himself. This possible future is what Layla foresees in her vision. But nothing is set in stone.

Personally, I believe MC has little reason left to back Dante. That original mission was built on deception, and revelations about the MC’s past have significantly shaken his trust and loyalty toward Dante and Aqua Palma. On the flip side, he might also harbor resentment toward the Empire given all he has gone through, the mine attack, assassination attempt, imprisonment, and brutal fights in the pit and arena.

So far, this door has remained slightly open, maybe it still is. The MC could genuinely support one side, betray another, or double-cross both, depending on how things unfold. Still, in this update, it seemed he finally had a chance either to break away from Dante or to reaffirm his allegiance, at least for the time being.

That said, I don’t believe MC has decided to go solo and act purely for himself, at least not yet. He probably knows that path could open up later on, but right now, it’s just one of many.
