Ultimately "impartial" is great, but you might want to strike a balance and find someone who actually gives a fuck. All these people (at least the ones we met) were awful, including the victim. Layla was smart enough to give MC a reason to care whether she lived or died, and the Luminary apparently approved.

I get the feeling the Luminary spends a lot of time thinking "These dumbass mortals..." and doesn't give much of a shit about what goes on. :sneaky:
I dunno, she kept making sounds like she approved, and seemed happy about Leyla fucking MC. She also adamantly wouldn't let Belegrade enter the room. And she either doesn't see how MC having sex with one of the suspects might impact his impartiality, or she doesn't care, or she approves of the decision to get Leyla pregnant and toast Belegrade (being a seer and everything).

Who here shook hands with dear little father killer ?
Nope, he's a corrupt, incompetent drunk who has now thrown in with some bad people and he wouldn't even explain WTF he was thinking so he can fuck right off. The problem is that I don't like Faustina either - especially with the cybermen thing. To me that's beyond evil and fucked up and her daughter(s) can join her on the fucking off train. Not sure where that leaves me though.

Nah, at least in most cases that's not good enough. If that's all I wanted, there are porn sites. I look for things that are a good story, with porn - not porn with a story. My favorite games are things I would play even if there were no lewd scenes - then the lewd scenes, especially if they're well done, are a bonus.
not what i come to this site for (mostly) but to each their own.

Not me!

He can go fuck himself, I'm with Faustina all the way! :)

I took his hand, because it cost me politically nothing, but if he still thinks I'm blindly on his side, it might give me advantage if/when I need to turn on him later and he might let slip some info about whatever he's planning if his guard is lowered around me. Or it might make it easier to figure out a less-violent solution, if such a thing is possible.

While emotionally satisfying, politically and strategically it seemed dumb to burn that bridge this early.

Bold of you to assume that little twat has any political power whatsoever. He's being led around by the balls by the Ferrymen.

He still has some info, and the Ferrymen still get info from him about you (though I'm sure they have plenty of their own sources). If playing along gets you even just the smallest iota of info that helps or leads the Ferrymen to believe you're in their pocket even just a little bit more than you actually are, it's worth it for now because it costs literally nothing but perhaps a tiny bit of pride and patience. This is particularly true if Dante later on comes to regret teaming up with the Ferryman and himself becomes turncoat and willing to tell you everything he knows because you're still 'friendly'.

And if you have no interest in that, it's still a dumb move to burn that bridge now for no reason or benefit other than feeling good. Burn it later when you actually can get something of value out of it at the same time or when pretending to still be on his team would carry a cost. And as long as they think you're an 'asset', they aren't likely to actively move against you. If they now think you're an enemy asset, you've just added additional risk to yourself you didn't need to.

Like it or not, MC is now in a position of political power and really should be thinking about and playing the long game if he wants a good outcome for himself and those he actually cares about. It's an unforced error, strategically, to reject Dante now unless you for some reason think telling him you can't promise to be on his side will cause him to see the error of his ways (strong doubt on that one).

Edit: Now, it is possible someone oversaw your exchange with him and maybe recorded it as evidence to use against you with Faustina et al, but we haven't been shown that yet. And honestly I don't think it'd be too hard to explain away.

I will however be pissed if taking his hand there locks me into taking his side later without giving me another choice when it actually matters.

It's about the potential consequences, if you chose to kill Layla, the guy will become the main leader, and it's a certainty that things will go wrong with how he dismiss corruption as something impossible and how he act.
With Layla she could still betray us but it's less certain since she got what she wanted and more.

So for now at least, sparing Layla and killing the guy seem like the best thing to do, better the uncertainty of betrayal than an order of seer allying with our ennemies .
I may want to go back and change my choice next update lol. Honestly, as others said, I wish there was a 4th option to kill both. One is clearly power hungry and not a good choice, and the other has significant flaws, too. Neither should be Archseer. But one actually killed for it... the other is just dumb and blinded by "love." Honestly, I think killing Layla MIGHT make him see reason, eventually. Imagine if in the final update, the wt mod goes back and changes this because killing her was right all along lol. Doubt it, but who knows?
