Unless we get a surprise announcement it doesn't seem likely that we get a release before the year ends, the dev hasn't said anything since September.

No, the dev has been releasing updates every five months or so except the last one when he took a break for a while. The problem is as mentioned above that last progress report was almost three months ago and it's been radio silence since.

Of the common ones as of now GoFile, Mediafire, Mega, and Filetransfer(i think thats correct) works. Occasionally Pixeldrain as well.

You are being a bit too pessimistic here, something could have happened IRL that has prevented him from continuing development, but that does not necessarily mean he has abandoned it forever.

His last Patreon log was in September, and he even was online up until last month.
