VN - Ren'Py - New Coral City [S2 v0.4] [HoneyGames]

This game has a lot going on, but that is also its biggest flaw.

The bad and the meh;

Simply too much going on while at the same time lacking the "muscle" to drive anything home with authority.

Nothing really grips you, ya' know?

The renders aren't the best, but I suppose they're passable, and the sex scenes are just...fine. Edit: The renders are much more grainy than I'd recalled as well.

I enjoy most of the character designs (+1 for goth girls in VNS) but, all of the good chicks are actively banging other dudes (or chicks), so if that kinda' thing turns you off, yeah. (Tons of NTR here, including the MCs ex. Yikes)

There are almost too many characters, so everything feels both crammed and schizophrenic as the game hops from plot point to plot point.

And, as mentioned, the MCs best friend seemingly exists just to bang the entire cast of chicks if the MC doesn't chase them full force.

The grammar is just not good, and if you've seen my other reviews you know that is a pet peeve of mine. However the dev does have a proofreader that cleans things up after initial releases, it appears.

Edit: Upon replaying the game from scratch, I would implore Honeygames to have their proofreader go through the earlier chapters and comb through things, as the grammar is much worse than I'd recalled it being. Like, almost unplayable, bad.

The good;

The concept of being a photographer in a city full of beautiful women is a cool idea. The game does a good job at letting you handle the shoots yourself, down to who you want to be your model, and those parts are super fun.

The variety of body types of the female cast are also wide-ranging compared to most VNS. Muscle-bound chicks, skinny, busty, etc. In such a large cast (too large, frankly) you're bound to find a girl or two to your liking.

The corruption routes are fun, but thus far unfinished. Really enjoy the scenes with Rain, as I must admit, it's nice to do the NTR'ing instead of being NTR'd in NCC.

Overall;

A mixed bag, but despite some glaring flaws, I enjoy this game for the most part.

*light* 3* with 4* potential.

While I wanted so badly to up my rating I almost had to bump it down to 2*. Begging HG to fix the grammar and save the potential of this project.

This is my review for New Coral City v1.55

HOT! It's the only word I can think of to totally describe this game. It features an immersive gameplay coupled with great graphics and audio. The developers obviously wants to give the players the most realistic situations in the game as much as possible. Almost everything that you do in this game can affect how your playthrough goes. The women are hot, which makes me wish for a harem route. The sex scenes are great, I just wish for more animations when it comes to this. This is definitely one of the best games that I have played so far and one of my favorites. There are a lot of good things to say about this game but I'll jsut leave it to other players to see for themselves. It's really worth a try. 5 stars!

The game seems a lot like real life messy complicated confusing and freaking immersive as hell!

do pay attention that falling in love with any girl in this game means nothing they will cheat on you if you fuck up and sometimes when you do not just like real life!

the complexity and different ways of playing makes this game one of the best in terms of replay ability content and very hard to meta play!

the best part of the game is the choices you make!

for anyone trying it make a blind play fully aware that you will fuck up several times along the way and then go and check a few of the walk trough and tutorials! none of them is complete you will probably need a tutorial per girl and there are dozens of them and then need to combine them to try and get an harem that is somewhat compatible remembering that just like in Real Life women come and go faster then you can realize what you truly feel about them before they leave!

I work in a place alot like New coral City by the beach so the game is somewhat relatable and the drug use and the "open relationships" make it more believable!

ofc its not like real life after all this is a porn game the girls are easier then real life but it gets close enough for your immersion needs!

Pretty good

Now its not finished, but already what there is so far is quite a lot. Massive amounts of women and lots of choices and paths to take. Now that makes it very interesting and you need to pay a bit of focus or you are going to end up in situations you dont want to.

Also, some choices dont really make sense to you until you make them and looking back at them afterwards you realize you have made a mistake, for example choosing which girl to model, I have no idea who anybody is and I dont know how decisions affect the story.

Also the money management in my opinion is rather pointless. It is already difficult to end up in a path that you want and the money management just makes it more difficult. Thankfully theres a easy way to give yourself money which was useful.

Another thing I must warn people about is that pretty much all women in this game go around banging other people. There are no innocent/sweet women in this game really at all. Also despite almost all women being okay with open relationships they start bitching if you date certain women so you need to watch what you do constantly which is again annoying.

On top of that you cant decide if you want to have an exclusive relationship with some women even if you want to which you cant know from the start. For example I really liked Kirsten but it seems theres no way to get her back from Maud. That may end up coming in a future version but thats a long time of watching the girl you like being with this douche. OR maybe I just couldnt figure out how to do it, who knows its not clear at all and finding the path you want, as previously stated can be rather hasslesome. Or Riley, who was the person I liked but so far theres pretty much nothing for her. Which is a shame

But there is a lot of stuff to do, and lots of fetishes which is great. Almost all women look good too, unfortunately I dont like the way Elsa and Andrea look despite them having lots of interactions with you.

But yes its certainly not bad, I recommend looking for a guide which I myself should have done and you should wait for it to be finished though I dont know how long that will take. But this isnt really a romancing type game so be warned dont go looking for that here.

EDIT: The game is being remade with new renders and changes in structure. Now the game undoubtedly had a lot of issues codingwise but this new version is already seemingly quite buggy so idk what to tell you. Updated renders are neat but seems like a waste of time. It will be quite a while until new content is made. Shame

My favorite adult game. Especially with the render quality improving but even without it, such a great game and one of the few that I've played from the start over and over again to explore different paths.

The progression is fantastic and has some sense of realism as well; MC is a desireable character to women but isn't just able to f*ck all of them immediately.

The women are babes and your relationships with them are intertwined and directly affect one another. It's extremely ambitious with its routes and number of characters, and for the most part it executes well, which is rare to see.

There's something in here for most people, save for the most extreme fetishes or MM, but otherwise from dom, sub, sharing, corruption, NTR, bdsm, etc. it has it all. I will say to anyone trying it out - I mean i personally love it from the start but I think it continues to get better and better later on as the dev becomes more refined and all the pieces start to come together.

Two years ago i downloaded the game and deleted because i found the prologue too heavy. But having tried the game since I was pleasantly surprised. The choices do matter and there are lots of them. Many girls to choose from and not all are easy to get. So overall a very good game

Ok, another good review of this game... But this game is kind of unique, not everyone cup of tea, but if you didn't play it, you should try and trust the fan base (not something you should always do)

Tried this game a first time, it looks old, I endeed up closing a lot of path because not interested and got bored still wondering why this game could have this rating.
Talked a bit with fans a the game, tried a second time... Better... But still nor worthy of a 4+ stars and I didn't finish the content, getting bored after some times.

Third time's a charm. Since this game was still poping on last updated... I gave it one last chance... And got stuck on it for quite a long time reaching the end of content wanting more.

1) this game is slow. A big part of the game is not really the game. More like a really big intro that play like a game. It's worldbuilding. If you pay attention it can be good, but it's not really that entertaining (well written & all, but still kind of an intro). Go with the flow, don't judge the game too fast.

2) The game tone and Mc are quitte difficult to understand. Is it cuck/ntr/sub, alpha/harem/dom... Well it's kind of everything. Mc is a big player, Coral city is a big league. You are not top of the food chain, you are good, not that good. You're the MC of this story, but your story is not the only one in this city.3) other characters have their own agenda. If you go for a fuckbuddy/free relationship with a girl... Well you are free and so she is. A fuck buddy who don't fuck because he have too many side girls, doesn't have the exclusivity. That sort of things.

Overall this game begs you for "roleplaying" your character. Fight for romance, fight for your job, don't care and fuck here and there... And face consequences.
You can say your job is the main story here, but the game is really more a canva made of differents stories. There's a lot to say about this game, it's improving quitte a lot (by the end of the current content for exemple it start to look quite good).
In short : I won't say that everytime, but trust the fan base, go with the flow, read (the game is basically unplayable if you don't) and enjoy this unique ride

It is a good game, with thorough character buildu and choices that impact the gameplay, giving the feeling of a real game, not just a fuckfest. Nice renders, and intricate story, that makes you actually sympathize with some of the characters!

I have to start by saying I have played this game way too much. I am amazed just how much content there is and how many different paths there are to try. It's crazy. The dev has done an incredible job creating all the different paths, choices and LIs. There is just about something for everyone. A serious amount of work has gone into this obvious labor of love.

I would love to be able to give this 5 stars, but it's the devs fault. They have done some much great stuff, that they have set the bar for themselves pretty high. So let's talk about what I didn't like.

Renders. A little on the sad side. You would think with all this hard work the dev would like top notch renders and instead we get renders I would have expected 3 years ago. Granted, some of these renders may actually be 3 years old, but that's no excuse. The images should be improving as the story goes along.

Photography Aspect. The MC is supposed to be a top photographer in the industry, but let's be honest, the poses, scenes and wardrobe are just meh. The only time, throughout the whole game, where I actual was amazed with the photo shoot was when Tatianna posed for Ashley's promotional shoot supporting her gym (Also, Yvette in Antione's bikini shoot). But some things like Luana posing in some kind of jeans skirt outfit from the 80's or Jennifer's pool shoot at the resort... just not good. Without trying to sound like an ass, the dev should look into some basic photography like the rule of thirds, the rule of space and creating depth in the images. I normally would not rag on these, but the MC is supposed to be an awesome photographer so throw us a bone and put together some better quality photos.

Clean up some of the paths. Having gone though some of the code and script, there is a LOT going on and if the dev is working by themselves then I can certainly understand why there are some mistakes, but they are noticeable. For example, if the MC never dates Yvette, Zoe at the Roadhouse will ask the MC about her even if they have never been there. Also, there are mornings where you have an option to text Michelle and comment about the date the previous night, even though the MC didn't go out with here. This also happens with Belen and Luana where they comment on events that happened the night before but never actually happened.

Now for the good stuff.

Content, content, content. OMG there is a lot of content. And I am not just talking about sex either. There is a whole lot going on and there is a whole lot going on with a whole lot of different people. The dev has done an amazing job creating a story and characters with a lot of depth. There are some serious topics covered, there is humor... when Riley tells the MC that every time a man thinks, a butterfly dies, I just lost it... there are drugs and partying, and there is even love if you want. I mean, you can even have the MC become a porn star. Granted, we are talking more soap opera than Dickens, but still, a whole lot of really solid work.

Paths. There are so many different paths and almost everything you have the MC do, has an impact with events later. I was playing one version and the MC was visiting Yanmei... I thought pretty regularly... and when he walked into her room, she was getting banged by another dude. If I had the MC visit her more often, she would not have done that, but because the MC had a few too many women to take care of, she slipped through the cracks. I loved it!

Anyway, if you spend a lot of time on this site with these games, and you have not tried this yet, you should do so now. Give it a shot and a little time to get started and you will like it. Be prepared to invest a lot of time. Even if you just play through once, it will take several hours to go through it.

If you want a game where there are plenty choices that have consequences, often long down the line, this game is for you. There are plenty of girls to meet, their stories are intertwined whth each other and the number of possible outcomes is staggering in comparison to other games.

Depending on what you'll choose whole branches of storyline will be open or closed to you .

What I also liked very much is that MC is not yet another 18-yer old kid banging his mommy but a more mature guy who is establishing his career.
This game is still a power trip but it's a bit more "grounded". Yes, you'll meet plenty of girls but you'll not get them all. There are other men on the scene, not all of them lame, and you'll have a competition. If the girls are not into you or feel neglected they will fuck other guys. Many of the girls are in relationships when you meet them and (depending on you choices) some of them will stay that way or have adventures but not with MC. The story moves forward and so the people around you are moving on with their goals and doing their thing. I found it refreshing in this regard.

Word of caution, New Coral City showbiz world is a giant cesspool of douchebags and cheatres (at least in my playthorougs) so you might stay away from the game if you find it too off-putting. MC will uncover a lot of dirt and will have plenty occasions to "contribute".

Renders are good, I found them sexy. They're not top notch but not bad either. However, this is a minor complaint that doesn't change the overall rate of the game.

Very disappointing NTR . The femdom Yvette content feels forced. She is the worst girl by far. The dev has no idea about cuckoldry or femdom.
The scenes in Maud's room are short. Kristen gets fucked only by Connor and the black guy.
FOR EVERY HAREM SCENE THERE SHOULD BE A NTR SCENE. Getting cucked by Adelle or Riley. MC works his ass off for those two. Just when he is about to score with them Maud should show up and cuck us by making us watch Adelle and Riley getting fucked by some guys and taunting us about it. Nothing.
We don't get so see David fuck all the girls we made a bet about. Complete disaster.
You can tell the NTR was just slapped in a hurry to lure unsuspecting customers for the money. "Predatory marketing tactics"...

The design of the game is flawed. We have to maneuver through all those dialogues and the outcome is poor.
Balancing the relationships. We have to wait a lot to experience the fruits of our labour(betwen days). A few sex scenes here and there. Too time consuming.

Typical harem game with too many female side characters. I was pressing left control when talking to girls i wasn't interested in...The dev should just focus on ten girls when it comes to sex.
The walkthrough looks like an algorithm script.
Again another game with no erotic lingerie.

Without a doubt my favorite scene was the gym scene in which we get humiliated by Ashley and Tatianna. It was a complete surprise. Exactly what NTR is about. I was expecting some serious cucking during the Dinner scene. Connor and David fucking Ashley and Tatianna...NOTHING HAPPENED.

Half of the scenes are with girls unrelated to the main storyline...outside of the loop. Yvete is a complete blockhead. We have to wait 70 days for Ashley sex. We get sex with all the wrong girls. Melissa avaliable only on porn career.
Luna, Tatianna, Adelle unavailable. Complicated system with repeating those sex scenes...I don't remember the names of most of the girls...there's so many of them and the majority feel as useless filler.

If you are looking for harem sure 3/5...

This game originally had a lot of potential, I liked it when it was a new release. However it has aged poorly and hasn't evolved to keep up with the standards of modern adult games. I hope it gets remastered and animated.

Other than that its a pretty decent game, I do wish it had more sex scenes and that the pacing was a bit more fluid. Giving it a 3 out 5.

Played hundreds of games already. This one stands out for me. Great game, well done, sir! The biggest Renpy game Ive played, with dozens and dozens of characters. Great story and a lot of different relationships between characters.

The game has a lot of girls, a lot of choices and even a story.,in which you are forced to pick sides of old editor or new management.

Some people complain that its not sandbox - meaning you might miss storylines/scenes because you picked a certain choice early. But to me it is one of the sellingpoints of the game : you don't have to endlessly be at a certain room at a certain time. Making it easier to emerge in the story.

If you want to see all scenes, just pick a different route with another savegame.

As mentioned in the beginning, there are many girls and many choices, I imagine it has everything for everyone. (It could use more NTR though. )

Updates have quite a bit of content. HoneyGames does take his time to create storylines, choices and renders, which is good in the long run, but can be frustrating if you're waiting for updates.

This is a well made game.
