basically the dev says - i do it for fun, sponsor me if you want / like it, if you don't who cares / blow me
there is no direct relation between work delivered and money earned
very artistically orientated individual
impressive he didn't abandon the work yet
guess will follow you for as long as we can stomach it

It really is as simple as if you don't like the way the dev handles things, don't support the project. I enjoy the game quite a bit, and might support it when it is finished or if updates start being more regular, but for now no.

Quick question because it seems very topical in this thread: How many months without a Patreon post is a game classified as ABANDONED here? 3?

I don't want to offend you, but ultimately the Patreons themselves are to blame. HoneyGames currently has almost 130 paying members on PATREON. You have to ask them that question. Why are they paying? For almost 8 months without any update?
No offense but they are the stupid ones if they spend money on it.
I'm not offended because I don't have any skin in the game but the patreons are not to blame. Infact, they could ultimately be the smart ones. Whenever you have an exchange of money for *services* (not goods) then a contract is formed, one of the conditions of a contracts existence is that it has to be fair to all parties, fair compensation for the services and fair services for the compensation. By replying in this forum multiple times and not giving a shit about a patreon post gives any patreon a fair argument for unfair services. Moreover he could cancel monthly payments from patreons until he can provide those services. The first step for anyone disgruntled would be to contact Patreon as they are the first link in any contract chain as they are effectively the agent for both parties as they take money from both.

Now I don't see anything hitting the courts any time soon as people are, like you said, stupid (not just patreons) but once a lawyer sniffs a chance at easy money the gates to hell open. (ADA Ramps, lawyers and google earth come to mind....that cost about 18 billion dollars until someone decided to fight back).

ps I just wish he'd get on with the fucking game, make a post to his patreons out of respect, tired of all his bullshit but once he gets the game done I will throw a $50 burger his way, the game is worth it even if his people skills aren't.

And just to make clear I'm not an attorney or lawyer, I do however have an extensive background in contract law as an arbitrator in many large construction contracts (multi millions to billions projects, you don't get arbitors in less, local courts deal with that).

I'm subscribed to a few devs on Patreon and honestly I pay no attention to it. It's not that much a month to where I actually give a damn so if one of my subscriptions goes dark, I might not even notice it. Doubtful that's the case for all 130 of those people though...

Since update 1.2 I have always paid to have immediate access to the new version. But I only did it at the release, never really in between.
Another game developer has made a post on PATREON in the last few days where it is directly said that there is currently no time for the game and the supporters are welcome to stop making payments for the time being. I think it's a great & fair gesture.

Yep same to an extent although I have about 25 devs I support at last count to be honest most of them are decent and if they have issues suspend taking payment until they don't.
Of course, some just keep taking and blacken the character of the good ones.
I still occasionally monitor dev activity and if it's zero for no reason then I withdraw my support

I miss this game. I can't believe it went on hiatus right as we were about to get to potentially bang Tatianna.
He's technically not on a hiatus he's just put the game on snail mode it has the lowest priority in his time distribution we all have only so much time to do things, so we allocate a weighting to importance. As this game would need a lot of time compared to many others it might take a full day's shift for a month (depending on hardware) to complete timeously and from reading his earlier posts this is not how he thinks would be a productive use of his time at the moment.
