VN - Ren'Py - New Coral City [S2 v0.3 Hotfix] [HoneyGames]

This game is very bad, i don't understand how would someone rate it 5 stars.

First - this game is actively against the player, starting with your 'friend' David, all situations are made for you to get punished one way or the other, there is no satisfaction.

Second - The logical thought, characters and societal norms followed here are comical and keep getting twisted to fuck you the player over, the characters are all selfish sex-crazed whores, the men are even worst, all weak-willed dogs on heat idiots, who somehow on this twisted Cthulhu universe gets the girls before you.

Third - the characters look bad, you might look at the images here and think hmm that looks good, but believe me it is not, you the MC looks like a drug addict mixture with a cancer survivor patient its that bad.

Final - For what could have been a nice satisfying experience given the premise and what the game advertises it was a tortuous play time on a horrendous universe. I would prefer to be sent to face the horrors of Warhammer 40 k than go to this Hollywood hell hole.

Solid, wish fulfillment shallow game. Photographer at a fashion mag that takes advantage of his position to, honestly mostly force himself on lots of women, but they want it too and the game isn't really designed to care about real life consent or power dynamics really.

There have been a couple of reboots, renders improve with reboots, but then the game has to reach back to the old point too let alone add new routes or anything.

Sex scenes to me were mostly boring and lacked diversity, very vanilla. There's a femdom path that I tried but it wasn't much, that was a bit different but I didn't find it very interesting, but it's there. It's really only on that route, although there's one other scene that would be femdom but leads to nothing if you see it (and has to be skipped to pursue that LI I believe).

Game dangles one LI in your face and never actually gets to doing anything with her, at least I never found anything. That seems to be where the reboots happen on too.

Love this game and I am glad the author decided to switch to Renpy engine, but the key issue has always been the runtime errors that the game throws up typically around sex scenes. Those bugs are persisting in this version too. Plus the sex scenes could be a lot more fluid instead of jerky, it detracts from the playing experience. All in all a great game that could benefit from a few tweaks.

while the game has its merits, it's advisable to seek a guide due to the ambiguous nature of decisions. Additionally, as it's still unfinished, it might be wise to wait for further development if seeking a more comprehensive gaming experience. This game is not primarily focused on romance, so players seeking that should be cautious.

Review of 1.55

There's potential here.

This game is a continuation of 'Follower', and includes a recap of what events happened in that game. However, this recap isn't enough to get the full context of everything that happened, which the first meeting with Rebecca makes clear. Luckily, this is mostly an issue when meeting someone from the previous game for the first time. Though with some characters, the past gets referenced a lot.

Scenes are fairly well done, there's attention to lighting and shadows. There's some lack of attention to detail, like how Yoshi's seat increases in size when Madelyne joins the scene. Some bright scenes also result in oversaturated characters.

In general, the game respects and works around the player's choices. Players can easily close a girl's path when the game asks what the MC's intentions are with someone. Sometimes though, some remarks and weird thoughts slip through the cracks. I'll close someone paths, only to have the MC remark a bit later how much he'd love to fuck her. The worst situation though, is when Rebecca's, Rain's and Lars' paths are closed, I turned down Mark twice, but the conversation about the MC making porn with Rain still comes up.

UI:
The sliders in the preferences-menu are difficult to manage. You need to click on the thin line to change them, you can't just drag the handle.
Sometimes, during conversation, characters will get REALLY up in your face. It's as if their profile picture takes up the entire screen, instead of the place reserved for it.
The main UI during gameplay is unintrusive. There's a textbox, which I appreciate. The Character Stats are nicely done as well, clicking on a character's icon opens a screen with detailed information. For people who haven't played the first game, there's an overload of characters.

Scene transitions/changes of topics: The writing doesn't make it easy to intuit when the MC speaks out-loud or has a thought.
Irene: "I told you I don't want to talk with you."
MC: "Ok. I think I'll go to the gym..."

Conversations in general are very robotic and lack personality.
- "You were at the Skyebar."
- "Yes, we should go there tonight."
- "I have to clean the storage room."

Out of pure character overload, I started shutting down path after path, to the point I didn't even manage to find a girl to photograph for that week's issue. I started shutting down the women who were featured in the previous game. I consider their relationships to be finished, and what they get up to now, is their business. Though I closed Kirsten's path, the MC still seems infatuated with her. I don't understand why.

My conclusion: There is a lot to like in this game, but it's not very open for new players due to character overload. The models are nice, though their personalities are flat. It's obvious that the game itself is a very complex undertaking, and I respect the dev for it.
My biggest concern is with the writing. Dialog is boring, topics aren't delved into, with the MC shutting down every conversation with "Got it."

Quite disappointing game. Initially the game looks vast and rich, but story becomes bland and predictable. The models are beautiful and great, but renders are poor quality and the H-scenes are average quality. Diversity of characters makes it harder to engage with the story as there is constant jumping between them, hence some previous choices do not really reveal within the story and plot, so the story becomes more streamlined.

This game has kind of bad graphics and details and that is pitty. The characters looks quite good and there are a lot of them. The story is not really complicated and the game interface is average. The dialogs are OK.

4.7 star game.

It'd be 5 stars if it didn't have an abrupt unfinished ending, but still, the rest of it is just so good. Renders are a little dated, some grainy screens, but you don't really care after awhile because the story, setting, writing, character development is so damn good.

-This game is MASSIVE. 100 days scripted out, all with unique events, not 100 sandbox days mind you, 100 renpy days of dialogue, settings, interactions.

-The cast of characters is MASSIVE. 50+? And most have unique stories, personalities, and the ways they fit into the overall setting. I couldn't even begin to give examples without typing out an entire page.

-Dialog has occasional engrish problems, but it really doesn't matter because the overall stories are written well enough you get what they're saying - the pacing and narrative direction are quite good.

A final strong point is L.I. diversity. There really is something here for everyone. There's the cute asian girl, there's the athletic types, there's the instathot look, there's the milf look, the college girl look, etcetcetc everything in between.

I strongly recommend anyone reading this to give it a DL and try it - I was shocked I had never heard of this when I stumbled across it; maybe because it's older, but the sheer volume and quality of content shames 95% of games on F95.

Okay, I would give this 5 stars if this was a generic review for a paper or similar, but this is just me a guy and my review so 3 to 4 is my review, i would say 3,7.

Lots of girls, lots of stuff happening lots of cool events and damn, the girls are top notch!
But? Nah man, it's a good game everywhere even I who tried this out for the femdom alone didn't get disappointed. Now there isn't a ton of femdom but the story and build up is so good and when the femdom comes, I might come too!! Or not.

It's more linear than it appears yet I do think a real proper guide in the game would be nice or a heads up for the real choices or something, as I just replayed a ton of shit for no use.
If the dev could make a good way to know what we are doing with our choices I think we would find this game even better.
Huge game too? I mean seriously! A lot of content, the sex scenes are mostly repeats with texts etc but this game isn't all about that, it's more about the story and when you can't hold it anymore.. you can't..

Final thing is, this game is totally not treating women or men in a cool way, like women are objects, and men are also just objects (big dicks), this game sees big dicks as a win for all girls about (not all but about). Not cool in that regard but do you really wanna live in a world where that is the standard? You can't express your own true feelings because it's wrong? Well up to you but it's a cool game! I find it nice to see objectification every now and then.. as the world is too serious as is... again my thoughts! I am a feminist, doesn't mean I want females to have more more, I want it to be equal.. I find the word feminist in itself to be sexist, but whatever

Good things, well, nothing really or people are blind or I don't understand the graphics are horrible just like the girls all ugly and whores not to mention that grainy they have everything has been stage or characters if we talk about the story it's worse since it is a meaningless mess nothing makes sense and the icing on the cake all the girls are copy paste some whores crazy for fame and eating penis the truth is I don't know why that exaggeration of 5 stars there are thousands of better games.

Oh wow! This one is awesome. I'm a little upset I can't find part one. Tried to get (what said was) part one... but, it was part two. But, none the less this VN. The story is very gripping. With tons of twists and turns. Think you're making the right choice, well... wait a bit and BAM! Nope, that was the wrong one. I love it! This is only one of a handful of VNs that I'll play for a few hours, then save and come back. Thinking about the story the whole time I'm gone. And the replay level? Yes. For sure. Many, many times.

I was gonna give it four stars, because sometimes the artwork doesn't sit well with me, but, I really couldn't do it. It's def worth five stars.

I am confident to say that NCC is hands down the best game I've played.
If you are like me that values the development of the characters, rather than just sex scenes, and having the ability to actually control the MC this is the game for you, plus no grind. It's basically in your hands to decide what will happen in the game.

I Have Played this game Since November 2019 so been playing coming up on 3 years now. I have played through it literally too many times to count as I have saves up to page 2000 and have overwritten half and this is the first time writing a rating cause this version is the first I've had no real problems with and it was only bugy previously because of how big the game was and probably will be it takes if your reading all the dialogue well over 3+ hours and that's just for one play cause you have multiple sexy characters to chose from and you have some sub-routes for them. My Favorite is Yvette Femdom Route which always bugged out for me in previous versions. I have had no problems the game now is a lot more linear than before way simpler to go down simple routes better options and better to get scenes for something you are into both fetish-wise and just vanilla options. The characters look so much better and the world is fleshed out with what looks like 3d backgrounds. I can speak highly of this new version I cant wait to see what's coming and I hope they get lots of support. It does have some flaws with the Model choices which seem to be one model in a certain pose will give you points with the boss or coworker and its Really difficult to do such as if you chose Andrea for the first shoot and want points with Reilly you have to do (Eyes, Sexy, Face, Nip) no variations no other combinations work out of the 16 you have (Yes i wrote it down) And then that i belive is going to repeat.

This game has a lot going on, but that is also its biggest flaw.

The bad and the meh;

Simply too much going on while at the same time lacking the "muscle" to drive anything home with authority.

The renders aren't the best, but I suppose they're passable, and the sex scenes are just...fine. Edit: The renders are much more grainy than I'd recalled as well.

I enjoy most of the character designs (+1 for goth girls in VNS) but, all of the good chicks are actively banging other dudes (or chicks), so if that kinda' thing turns you off, yeah. (Tons of NTR here, including the MCs ex. Yikes)

There are almost too many characters, so everything feels both crammed and schizophrenic as the game hops from plot point to plot point.

And, as mentioned, the MCs best friend seemingly exists just to bang the entire cast of chicks if the MC doesn't chase them full force.

The grammar is just not good, and if you've seen my other reviews you know that is a pet peeve of mine. However the dev does have a proofreader that cleans things up after initial releases, it appears.

Edit: Upon replaying the game from scratch, I would implore Honeygames to have their proofreader go through the earlier chapters and comb through things, as the grammar is much worse than I'd recalled it being. Like, almost unplayable, bad.

The good;

The concept of being a photographer in a city full of beautiful women is a cool idea. The game does a good job at letting you handle the shoots yourself, down to who you want to be your model, and those parts are super fun.

The variety of body types of the female cast are also wide-ranging compared to most VNS. Muscle-bound chicks, skinny, busty, etc. In such a large cast (too large, frankly) you're bound to find a girl or two to your liking.

The corruption routes are fun, but thus far unfinished. Really enjoy the scenes with Rain, as I must admit, it's nice to do the NTR'ing instead of being NTR'd in NCC.

Overall;

A mixed bag, but despite some glaring flaws, I enjoy this game for the most part.

*light* 3* with 4* potential.

This is my review for New Coral City v1.55

HOT! It's the only word I can think of to totally describe this game. It features an immersive gameplay coupled with great graphics and audio. The developers obviously wants to give the players the most realistic situations in the game as much as possible. Almost everything that you do in this game can affect how your playthrough goes. The women are hot, which makes me wish for a harem route. The sex scenes are great, I just wish for more animations when it comes to this. This is definitely one of the best games that I have played so far and one of my favorites. There are a lot of good things to say about this game but I'll jsut leave it to other players to see for themselves. It's really worth a try. 5 stars!

The game seems a lot like real life messy complicated confusing and freaking immersive as hell!

do pay attention that falling in love with any girl in this game means nothing they will cheat on you if you fuck up and sometimes when you do not just like real life!

the complexity and different ways of playing makes this game one of the best in terms of replay ability content and very hard to meta play!

the best part of the game is the choices you make!

its also a multiple LI balancing act that is impossible

for anyone trying it make a blind play fully aware that you will fuck up several times along the way and then go and check a few of the walk trough and tutorials! none of them is complete you will probably need a tutorial per girl and there are dozens of them and then need to combine them to try and get an harem that is somewhat compatible remembering that just like in Real Life women come and go faster then you can realize what you truly feel about them before they leave!

I work in a place alot like New coral City by the beach so the game is somewhat relatable and the drug use and the "open relationships" make it more believable!

ofc its not like real life after all this is a porn game the girls are easier then real life but it gets close enough for your immersion needs!

Pretty good

Now its not finished, but already what there is so far is quite a lot. Massive amounts of women and lots of choices and paths to take. Now that makes it very interesting and you need to pay a bit of focus or you are going to end up in situations you dont want to.

Also, some choices dont really make sense to you until you make them and looking back at them afterwards you realize you have made a mistake, for example choosing which girl to model, I have no idea who anybody is and I dont know how decisions affect the story.

Also the money management in my opinion is rather pointless. It is already difficult to end up in a path that you want and the money management just makes it more difficult. Thankfully theres a easy way to give yourself money which was useful.

Another thing I must warn people about is that pretty much all women in this game go around banging other people. There are no innocent/sweet women in this game really at all. Also despite almost all women being okay with open relationships they start bitching if you date certain women so you need to watch what you do constantly which is again annoying.

On top of that you cant decide if you want to have an exclusive relationship with some women even if you want to which you cant know from the start. For example I really liked Kirsten but it seems theres no way to get her back from Maud. That may end up coming in a future version but thats a long time of watching the girl you like being with this douche. OR maybe I just couldnt figure out how to do it, who knows its not clear at all and finding the path you want, as previously stated can be rather hasslesome. Or Riley, who was the person I liked but so far theres pretty much nothing for her. Which is a shame

But there is a lot of stuff to do, and lots of fetishes which is great. Almost all women look good too, unfortunately I dont like the way Elsa and Andrea look despite them having lots of interactions with you.

But yes its certainly not bad, I recommend looking for a guide which I myself should have done and you should wait for it to be finished though I dont know how long that will take. But this isnt really a romancing type game so be warned dont go looking for that here.

EDIT: The game is being remade with new renders and changes in structure. Now the game undoubtedly had a lot of issues codingwise but this new version is already seemingly quite buggy so idk what to tell you. Updated renders are neat but seems like a waste of time. It will be quite a while until new content is made. Shame
