It's not like I'm interested in the blackmailer, the prostitute, or the psychopath either. And since the sister and the ex-girlfriend are out, that leaves only two (one of whom I'm still deciding whether to like or not). If Miharu weren't there, it could be a harem game where my MC ends up voluntarily single and unattached. Which doesn't say anything good about the LIs.

Ayase is the only one who matter anyway.

It felt like she made an effort to apologize and make up for it and because of this I don't think she would of even gone through with it if the MC refused her terms. It felt more like an empty threat to me cause to me it seemed like she felt bad about it and made an effort to apologize rather quickly.

It seemed more like a panic move because she was recognized than an actual attempt at blackmail. She freaked out and thought she needed to do something to protect her identity because she didn't know the MC at all at that point. Which is logical, even if the MC wasn't the one trying to rape her friend that doesn't mean he wouldn't start blabbing at school about what he saw.

I never really understood the backlash against it either myself. If I were in her shoes I'd do the same thing. Trust is something earned, and the MC hadn't earned it yet. Once he did have her trust she apologized and ended it.

It gives her a chance to get to know him a bit outside of school and find out whether he's trustworthy.

I mean true the blackmail was a terrible way to start it I mean I didn't like. The difference between You and I and simply our personalities see things differently where I can understand and forgive her for what she has done because I can tell she feels nothing but regret and trying to make up for it. So to me it shows she isn't a terrible person , just someone that acted without thinking and acted quickly and made a mistake cause she was scared we knew her secret. So I find her easy to forgive and trust because of this.
