Then he had me open the chest and find a ring there, and the rival didn't show up. I tried twice, following all instructions and still nothing.

By this do you mean you'll be locked out of the event and into another one, or are there more branches to experience?

So, the ring was actually in the chest? Huh, I've never gotten that to happen. Maybe you need to actually have the rival show up in an earlier treasure hunt, where you find the treasure behind the concealed door, did you get that?

Oh, and I remember that my character was a virgin and it seemed like it had some influence on the event. Or the dialogue, at the very least.

I was only re-posting what the game's creator wrote on his blog, so I don't know for sure. I am however fairly sure that it just locks you out of one of the choices if you're pregnant, I don't really think being pregnant has its own event branch in this case.

There are two paths for this event. They are dependent on whether you met the rival or not. If you met the rival then the ring will be missing and you have to chase her down. If you did not meet the rival during a previous treasure hunt then the ring will still be in the chest when you arrive.

Being a virgin only effects the dialogue.

Actually, it is. If the scene ends up with the guy cumming ON your vagina, it's right there in the code that that can leave you preggers, although that's a lower probability even if you manage to get cum there without having sex.

Also, the green dress is indeed based on the computer's system date.

I tried to get the treasure hunting scene about 2 months ago and couldn't get it, I haven't played the game since as I'm waiting for a good update. The only reason I can think of as to why I couldn't get it to activate even though I had met the criteria listed is my custom npc was an Impregnator, and that was the only "evil" trait he had, he was not selfish and didn't have the coldhearted trait so I thought I was good. But now I think the Impregnator can only propose with the barn scene.

Major changes & additions:

• Added the SophisticatedSalesHelp and SpyOnSex scenes written by …? and Rigel.​
• The PC can now fake an orgasm during sex if she isn't enjoying herself. Sex will also finish faster now once the PC's partner believes her to have had an orgasm.​
• To further the “be annoyed at your sucky lover” theme, added a “be frustrated” action to the male-dominant sex scenes. This appears when the PC has low arousal and a reason to dislike the encounter (Inept lover, small cock for a likes-big PC, disliked pace choice from the NPC) and inflicts an additional penalty for her arousal on top of the original cause.​

Minor changes:

• Following a suggestion from Saur, updated the “are you about to get pregnant?” line with an alternative if the PC's partner had lied about her not risking pregnancy from her first time.​

• Fixed a bug reported by IHayden where your date being unable to face you any more tonight does not actually stop him from facing you a whole lot more.​
• Fixed a “plants a kiss on your no panties” issue reported by Katie.​
• Fixed some potential boundary issues with the makeout orgasm trigger.​

Well for some people it's a controversial topic, for others it's as bad as murder. The dev lives in a country where it's illegal to have any non-consent themes (like rape) in your porn creations, so it's possible it's something like that as well.
