I get that SO is a shitty dev but just cause he is a day or two late doesn't mean he is skipping a month. It took me less than a minute to go to his patreon and see that he posted about a delay. Dunno why there is a delay as I haven't supported him but hopefully it means that he has actually put in some effort for once.Guess he's skipping another month.
Fucking glacial-ass pace...Guess writing 4 lines of text this month turned out to be more difficult than anticipated
Dude, it seems that youre new here so let me explain how things work. SO (dev of this game) is a shitty dev and everyone is complaining because we CARE about this game, it is fun but we haven't got ANY NEW CONTENT FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS... can you imagine that? Every update he adds 5 lines of text, fixes couple of bugs here and there and he calls that an update. That's how things have been for the last three or so years, so please don't act holier than thou and call us hypocrites.Everyone whines about how hopeless the dude is and somehow everyone is still here, no one is paying, almost all are demanding ... damn hypocrites.
He simply uses the same policy as the biggest players, Electronic fArts, UP(l)ay or recent Bethesda.
Normally, I would go into the cycle of "less paying players => less resources/effort => worse updates => less paying players" but SO doesn't seem to have changed pace no matter how many patrons. SO is a prime example of everything wrong with Patreon as an early-access platform; the longer it takes to make the game, the more money you get, so low-effort updates are rewarded more than high-effort updates. And even by those standard, SO is a bad dev, because in the update log for one release, they essentially said "hey, there's a major bug in here that I'm aware of, but I'll fix it in the next update"Dude, it seems that youre new here so let me explain how things work. Yeah I know how SO works and about his hand injury, but as long as you aren't paying you can't complain, if you want you can even play the game legally for free and if you are paying and you really don't like how it's progressing just stop. It's people who pay for shit that ruin the industry.Dude, it seems that youre new here so let me explain how things work. I totally disagree with that, although I respect your point of view. This game got quite a few people interested, and I am one of them. And as said before, lack of development started a long time ago, if people here say it was three years ago it seems correct for me. I am one of many people following the development of this game for quite some time, and for afreaking long period of time each update got more absurd than the one before, which is kind of impressive in some kind of way, but just the same VERY DISAPPOINTING. To see new stuff you had to meet some very specific - and for many players far fetched - specifics, which meant you were left out of the update. If this happens once or twice, nobody should make big fuss of it, but with this game - and in this field of misconduct it stands out - it has happened for years now. So people out here started complaining more and more about the high potential of the game and the shitty dev. I have had an on-off relationship with this game for quite some time, and all I can say is that it started great and totally failed in the development. Of course it't the dev's game and he/she/it can do whatever he / she / it likes, but I have not encountered any other game in which the dev disappoints as much as in this game. Most recently Fresh Mulan from "Defenestration" puts much effort into catching up with SO, but actually it looks like he might come up with fun content in the end, even failing to be a worse dev than SO, no matter how he tried. If you can name other devs who fail expectations more than these two, you might change my mind on this GREAT SHITTY GAME.Yeah I know how SO works and about his hand injury, but as long as you aren't paying you can't complain, if you want you can even play the game legally for free and if you are paying and you really don't like how it's progressing just stop. The game is not a person to care about it's a product and SOs property if he wishes to develop it as he is it's his choice.
I also respect your point of view and I also really like the game and dislike the way it's being developed. The problem is that SO still has almost 600 paying patrons which gets him a decent amount of cash for like a couple of hours of work ... and from the devs POV this is genius. If I would got paid that amount for that kind of work ... man believe me I would go for it. In the meantime he can work full time on something different. It's like those FIFA games that get released every year or even more often if there is a world cup or whatever and some people buy every next iteration ... Madness.I totally disagree with that, although I respect your point of view. This game got quite a few people interested, and I am one of them. So when did Patreon become a "early access platform"? It's a support a creator and hope for good things happen type of Platform -)Normally, I would go into the cycle of "less paying players => less resources/effort => worse updates => less paying players" but SO doesn't seem to have changed pace no matter how many patrons. From the blog:OP Updated: Added v0.6.0 Thank you Large Particle
(Also if anyone has the change-log for this version, Quote/reply to this and I'll add it in thanks!)
Consider Patreon is used by a WIDE range of content creators from grandmas's knitting patterns, to people stuffing their face on youtube to anything in between, that is not really the case.It started being an "early access platform" when 99% of creators started using it as one.
